There is only ONE place in the bible that it specifically states which of the Hebrew god's 10 commandments are defined as... the 10 Commandments

Exodus 34:28.

NO where else, only there. So, why are these ignored? And what's that about boiling goat kids in their mother's milk?? Why is it in the top ten things to do or not do?

Exodus 20:1-17 is the one favored by Christians.

Not Exodus 34: 13-28. Even if it is the only one that calls itself the "10 commandments" in that chapter.
Religions are false, and apparently lazy as well. If they can get away with it, they will.

My favorite 10 commandments are:
1. Committed Respect
2. Genuine Trust
3. Justified Passivity
4. Educated Truth
5. Unselfish Inclusivity
6. Caring Love
7. Measured Patience
8. Maintained Purity
9. Recuperating Repose
10. Modest Restraint

If nothing is perfect is a proper excuse, then why ever point anything out to be fixed?

No one is perfect...Christians fail like the rest of us. I'm not saying they don't try

So, why don't you, as a christian, follow the only ones in the bible that are actually named the ten commandments? What is the reason?

I think its more 'beneficial' for society in general, for believers to follow the widely accepted version instead of the set in the OP...consider how much conflict and all the problems it would create in the secular community if you constantly had parishioners actively destroying other groups shrines, and not being permitted to associate with people of other faiths.

Its easier and more convenient/ less risky to obey the second version, so naturally that is whats going to be encouraged, plus that version does not require any action, or action that would conflict with secular laws either (gee, what a coincidence!).

The above commandments are all orders about ritual observances, they contain no moral or ethical content and direction. And worse they enjoin violence for no good reason.

These commandments and the god who supposedly handed them down belong on the rubbish heap. Ann Landers probably did better than this.
