Sorry if this offends some of my believer friends but I don't know how any adults today buy the notion of the Abrahamic god as being remotely realistic/possible/believable. So, discussions of "God's power" as it relates to that concept of a god-thing, just seem juvenile, whatever the context.

Thanks.

Gregg Braden speaks extensively on what the 'tipping point' to effect change is...it was the proverbial 100th monkey that changed it all on an island...there's even a book about it.

Meditation, Prayer and Intent...from an article..
4000 did this in '93
In 1993 a successful experiment was performed in Washington DC in America to demonstrate
the effect of a large group of transcendental meditators on crime levels.
In fact, the findings later showed that the rate of violent crime decreased by 23 percent during the June 7 to July 30 experimental period.
The odds of this result occurring by chance are less than 2 in 1 billion.

Btw, if anyone else would like to suggest for me to pray, as if they know anything about what
I actually do or think no one has ever said that, lol, thinking it uniquely clever...I say always...
'You pray'.

I suppose this is an attempt to square "free will" with "omniscience". However, if God simply chooses 'not to know'..............how can he do any prophecies? He has to be able to direct human behavior or at least "know" what the people participating in said prophecy are going to do.

So it's impossible for God to "know and not know" simultaneously in the same manner that it is impossible for God to answer "extraordinary" prayers.

God can find a guy or two a meal of course but he can't do the masses anymore like when Jesus was around.

It's up to people to do "God's work these days as it seems he is out of the big time miracle business. Just small ones nowadays.

well, i am just 1/2 playing and saying.

but yes, does a building have traits just before we build it from the prints? You could say "it doesn't have literal traits". But I would say that the building couldn't be built without any concept of traits.

This assumes that the only two possibilities are:

1. God decreased violent crime in answer to prayer.
2. It was random chance.

But aren't there other possibilities?

But, that wasn't the question. Thrillobyte offered a prayer, which you stated would not be answered as he is not a believer. This is a Biblical POV and I accept it. What if you, a believer, were to pray for the starving children? What would happen? You claim God miraculously heals people because you ask him to. Would he feed starving children if you asked?

When someone says, "God let's...." It shows the understanding of this Intelligent Consciousness is
slim.
I am not 'making excuses' for this Creator...but, do understand a bit of the Cosmic Play.
Not that others are dumb and I'm smart...they just do not care to study further...and why would they...they don't believe in a Creator anyway! Which is fine with me.

For the record...I don't believe in the Bible God...I'm not a Christian.
I think Jesus was great, tho! For the record.

Interesting. So if God chooses my traits, creates me, but my traits are unacceptable to him, who's fault is that? Mine?

May I ask, who then are you praying to? Who is performing the miraculous healing?

That's not valid science (says this ex-science teacher) unless the experiment can be repeated numerous times with similar findings. Too many uncontrolled variables, particularly -- for example -- re weather.
