But I believe they understand and embrace spirituality.

It doesn't ALL come from a pastiche of primitive pamphlets collated and dubbed "the bible."

1. There's also a sub-forum on christianity. If that's what you want to discuss, why not go there?
2. One can be interested in a topic, while not being directly involved in the topic. I'm interested in the Civil War. But I'm not a Civil War soldier.
3. There's a lot more to "spirituality" than just christianity.
4. Thank you for comparing us to rodents.
What on earth? I beg you to read her op again.
You are way off on this, my friend!! LOL
I don't wanna tell you why...you'll see.

Clara, I, also, didn't understand the first time my ex said, You have such a good spirit, "Huh? But
you're an atheist. Why would you be talking about 'spirit'?"
I just did not get it.
He just couldn't help himself I guess...

I think there's a misunderstanding here about what atheism is. It doesn't mean that you can't also be spiritual. One of the great many lies told to Christians about atheists is that they've rejected completely any notion of God. Sure, some are steadfast in their belief that there is no God or any possibility of God, but many just don't believe there's nearly enough evidence to conclude either way (don't interject too early and tell me that I'm referring to an agnostic; I am not). If you actually get to know thoughtful atheists, they'll be happy to sit down and discuss the possibilities. All atheism means is literally that they are without theism. The why is what most Christians et. al. don't bother to understand.

I'm honestly curious, why people who don't believe in any form of higher power are on this general Religion and Spirituality forum?

There is a subforum for Agnostic and Atheistic viewpoints, where people who have that viewpoint can post and discuss their beliefs.

Why come here, in the forum for discussing Religion and Spirituality, if you more align with Agnostic and Atheism?

I'm truly interested in honest answers. Again, Mods, sorry if this question is forbidden.

Many years ago, on the Petsmart forum, there was a pet rodent discussion group. People who liked rats, mice, hamsters, etc. shared tips. They were overwhelmed with a group of posters who derided them, and wondered why they wanted rodents, and advised then to put their energies elsewhere.

Honestly, this is how I feel about this topic thread. Why are people who are not interested in it so compelled to post negative things to people who ARE interested in the topic?
Because it helps to discourage theist from gathering to post, keeps the topics closer to the secular level, gives certain people feel a sense of superiority and so they now have to enlighten the rest of the world.

Where else can a person position themselves to be purposely agitated?

This thread is not about atheism; it's about trolls.

If that's the case, the OP should call a troll a troll.

I don't like whataboutisms, but the Atheists forums has its share of theist trolls too. Can we trade? lol

Agnosticism, as a term, wasn't coined until the mid-19th century. What do you think they called us before that? Like many other atheists, I refuse to be referred to as a term that makes me sound wishy-washy or too stupid or indifferent to decide, which is why the term was coined in the first place: to more easily denounce views that weren't monotheistic. I know that mainstream Christianity wants to portray an atheist only in one, angry box, but it's not so black and white: you can place me in a few angry boxes. =P

Sometimes religious beliefs are pushed through the use of fear and I don't consider that "religious" or "spiritual". Also, if there is any hint of enabling and religion is used as the reason for enabling, such as forgiving, I don't consider that religious or spiritual. Those examples are what would cause me to post in the R&S forum.
