He's one of the governing body members. There are 7 of them specially selected by Jehovah Himself to lead His people through the end times. He shouldn't be purchasing hooch at all especially on a Sunday. If an elderly woman is supposed to go without food he doesn't need expensive whisky and a Cadi. This guy will tell parents to shun their children simply for saying he doesn't represent God. He also has stated that gay men made tight pants popular so they can check out other men. That may have been the whisky talking.

Sorry, but I believe there is a special fate for such men in the reaping and sowing department in spite of the fact that I believe everyone is ultimately saved.

Meh, Jesus turned water into wine so its not that alcohol cant be consumed. The admonition is not to be a drunkard or engage in drunken revelries. I'm not aware that you cant purchase alcohol on certain days either. Jesus and his disciples obviously had wine during the last supper which was a holy observance of Passover so prohibitions about what days you can or cant buy alcohol or avoiding alcohol entirely is purely a man made construct or doctrine. I think people are confusing JWs with Mormons where consumption of "strong drink" which has included alcohol is not advised. By the way, that's not a knock against Mormons. If any one wants to abstain from alcohol there isn't anything wrong with that.

What I did notice wasn't the intent of the person who filmed him and in fact its reassuring. That non descript vehicle he's driving and his clothing. There's no high priced luxo barge, limo, learjet that clearly some religious leaders have used. His clothing? not expensive.

Some people have the wrong impression that being a true Christian requires a practice of ascetism. It doesn't. Even Jesus had a fine undergarment and attended wedding feasts and dinner parties. Christians should practice charity and avoid the love of money.

Well, Anthony Morris is one of the Governing Body. Whether this really is Morris is a reasonable question.

Drinking alcoholic beverages is permitted within Watchtower teaching. Getting drunk is against Watchtower teaching.

So if this is Morris - i.e. one of Jehovah's witnesses - buying liquor does not violate what he teaches through the Watchtower Society. The question comes down to whether he is being hypocritical by buying top-shelf scotch rather than a more reasonably priced product of reasonable quality when he teaches, through the Watchtower Society, Jehovah's witnesses to give sacrificially.

I'm not picking on the witnesses in this. I think the same question could reasonably be asked regarding, for example, Kenneth Copeland.

If you, as a Joseph Smith believing Mormon, are not obeying the Word of Wisdom, then you cannot get a temple recommend or be baptized for dead people. Drinking alcohol will keep you from getting to the highest degree of heaven.
