Okay I admit that to me Jesus wasn't that bad of a guy. Jesus said that a person that is without sin cast the first stone. I interpret that to mean let god judge the sins of people and to not take judgement upon yourself. Jesus started a new movement called Christianity which was less severe than mosaic law and Old Testament religion/ rules. The Old Testament says apply the death penalty for homosexuality and adulterers for example.
But I think the Christian movement and actions throughout history has been bad overall because of the things like the crusades and Spanish Inquisition, the burning of witches etc, basically proving that religion causes fanaticism, even if a religion has peaceful teachings. At least Christianity has evolved since the Middle Ages. It's scary how religions still hold people back in terms of freedom and human rights, like Islam today.

True enough. It seems to be that people just have to make simple things into complex religions...what we get for being human.
