Like I already stated - He intends for man to share- provides plenty of examples in the Bible & current world.

You can take up objections to His plan directly with Him yourself when your time comes.
The important issue is hunger (or homelessness, etc.) - not the debate as to how or why a deity would require ‘prayer’ to do anything about it.

As far as your last sentence, why would a god ‘condemn’ anyone for free thought or helping to solve hunger or homelessness in any constructive way one could? That irrational thought in itself, in my opinion, blows up the theory of prayer. It should be about helping others in this world, not praying about it. What better way than to connect/relate to humanity/‘spirituality’ than that?

They don’t need your prayers... they need food. If you really want to help these people.. donate your time and money. Put your money where your mouth is.

Is this directed to me, or someone else?

Of course, it is understood that we aren't looking for a magical response, but rather the awareness that we are to do something about these problems.
You have indicated that you do not believe the Biblical promise that whatever you ask in Jesus' name will be granted. I should have been more clear what I meant by "believer", sorry about that.

And that's been the problem with all too many christians. Frankly, prayer is cheap. "Let god do it" is the easy way out.

It's OK.

I've always known the bolded isn't true. Figured that one out by first grade.

This ignorant argument has always been the ultimate backfire.
Just tell the starving the truth: That Jesus was an incredibly influential man that died 2000 years ago and his "Father" Jehovah was a metaphorical/allegorical character in the book...and thus unable to do anything for them and could not be blamed in any way for not helping their plight.
OTOH...there are real people alive today that COULD pay for the three 5 cent bowls of rice per day they need so they won't starve...but instead, they are sooooooo uncaring and evil that they keep their abudance and spend it on jewelry, flatscreens, computers & smart phones, automobiles, vacations, sports and artistic performances, booze, and consume so much more food than they need that many are obese.
Some have many hundreds, some many thousands, some have Millions, some even have BILLIONS!
THEY are the selfish, greedy ones that *could* easily buy the food you need so you won't starve to death...but won't & don't, and indulge themselves instead.
All the people that post on the Religion & Spirituality board of the City-Data website can be included in this list of people that could save you from dying, but don't.
BOTTOM LINE: Everything some blame a metaphorical character and a guy dead for 20 centuries for not doing...is what THEY are cabable of doing, but don't...and thus possess whatever fault they try to project upon entities they claim don't exist while inanely protesting the things they do or don't do.
