As a reminder, I worked in a place for twenty years in which people from every culture, religion, race, country of origin, etc., worked next to me. Despite that harmony, one day some people who saw us all as a monolithic "THEM" destroyed the place in which we worked and killed many of the people who worked in that accepting environment.
They believed we were the "Them", the enemy.
Open-minded? I will go to my grave preaching about how we need to stop this "Us v. Them" mindset. It starts by meeting one another as individuals.

As we speak, fundamentalist Christians are brainwashing their children with their abusive doctrines, and they will become the next generation of fundamentalist Christian monsters. Yes, and some of them are being taught to be Republicans or Democrats or gun owners or gun restrictors, or to support women's rights (over a lot of things) or restrict a woman's rights (over a few things), and so on and so on. Many of us would consider teaching one side or the other over any of this issues as abuse.

exactly ward. fundy-think-types are everywhere because we are people first. thinking the belief defines makes the person sick is completely arse backwards.

That's the way it has always been done.
I know I hold a 'controversial' position about tolerance but when I finally understood its purpose and how it is truly not embracing, my relationships and interactions changed permanently.
Agenda? I admit, I have one. It's very basic and straight forward. Or, so I think.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life. None come to the Father but through Him. He is the Savior of the World and a day of judgement is coming.
Now, that flies in the face of many and I get that. But, it's my life foundation. Do I share it publicly? Absolutely. I share it because I believe it's the single most important truth anyone will ever encounter. It's my "Pizza".
But, you will never see me "trashing", belittling, or ridiculing those that believe differently. I believe everyone...everyone, deserves respect in their beliefs or non belief as the case may be. I read many posts here that state "facts" (as the poster sees them) that I totally disagree with. But...that's their right...I respect that. I totally do. I read posts by atheists and even concur in that, "I understand what you're saying and I understand why you feel as you do..."
I never try to shove my belief down anybody's throat. I speak here and there, I share here and there and...let those that have ears hear. Accept, or reject. It's everyone's choice. Arguing about this is not really on my plate.
I've stated several times in here that the best man my wedding is a non-believer. Yet, I love him like a brother. That's my goal for anyone I encounter...to love them as Christ loves them and loves me. I admit I don't always succeed. I admit I'm far, far from perfect, I admit I'm a work in progress. But, I do so try...
In the end, I'm just a guy. And this is just one guy's opinion.

I just spoke here. Yes, written "speak" but still speaking so to speak.
If you and I knew each other in person...I'd offer to speak to you face to face. If you were interested, we'd chat. I'd listen to your objections to God, I'd hope you'd listen to my reasons for believing.
If you were not interested, I'd respect your wish. And, from my perspective, we could still get along just fine.
