Like Lazarus was never really dead in the first place.
I find it is false clergy teaching that don't make sense.
KJV translated the word Gehenna into English as hellfire.
Gehenna was just a garbage pit outside of Jerusalem where things were destroyed forever, Not burning forever.
Whereas biblical hell (sheol/hades) is just mankind's temporary stone-cold grave for the sleeping dead.
Can anyone think of anyone righteous that went to hell the day he died _________
According to Acts 2:27 the day righteous Jesus died he went to hell, biblical hell.
Since Jesus taught the dead are in a sleep-like state at John 11:11-14 then while in biblical hell Jesus was asleep in death.
Also, Jesus was well educated in the old Hebrew Scriptures and is where Jesus learned that true condition of the dead.
Such verses as found at Psalm 6:5; Psalm 13:3; Psalm 115:17; Isaiah 38:18; Ecclesiastes 9:5.
If the Bible's hell was a permanent place then Jesus would still be in hell ( the grave ).
Also, according to Jesus, biblical hell comes to a final end as per Revelation 20:13-14.
After everyone in biblical hell ( grave ) is 'delivered up' ( meaning resurrected out of hell ) then emptied-out hell is cast vacant into that symbolic ' second death ' for vacated biblical hell.
So, it is No wonder that 1st Cor. 15:26; Isaiah 25:8 lets us know that even ' enemy death ' will be No more on Earth.

Does not make sense, he was the sacrificial lamb on earth.
Hence the saying: "we are all saved by the Blood of the Lamb".

And Hebrews says this was in heaven. If your religious text does not make sense, that is not my problem.
