maybe better for another thread, but do you not reject any ultimate authority over yourself other than yourself?

That doesn't mean that you see yourself as a god.

Nope. As a child I recognized (though often balked at) my parents' and teachers' authority. When a cop pulls me over, I recognize his authority. If I broke a law and was brought before the courts, I would recognize their authority. I have nearly always had cats in my life and recognize their authority.

But no god-thing in any "holy" book has any authority over me.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. It doesn't matter how many times you say...I disagree with you.

No; this human delusion is the ultimate survival-instinct. That's why God-believer battles so fiercely to keep the delusion that God -in-their-head is Real.

Doesn't make us consider ourselves gods. No more than the Founding Fathers, getting rid of a king, made themselves Kings. True, they were now the rulers, but they did not function the way an autocrat did and so they were not autocrats. Neither are humans, being responsible for their own futures because there are no gods to do it, acting like Gods, so we are not gods, do not consider ourselves gods and are not making ourselves gods.

...but it's tricky to see where. It is good old equivocation again. You get rid of your car and use a bicycle instead. So you are making out that a bicycle is a car? Of course not.

Thanks for your response
very interesting....

Maybe I'll have to start a new thread to dive deeper; (but do point me in right direction if discussion already exists?);

Interesting...all have immense power to wreck your life...or influence it greatly in a bad way for awhile.
But...not God...interesting.
(Not saying I don't feel the same.)
