Today I visited the Pioneer Woman memorial in Ponca City. Our brothers the Ponca and the Kaw nations are the people who live in this area. They have a great tradition.
But the Pioneer Woman......what awesome courage and perseverance to move to a piece of land miles and miles from a town, sometimes miles from a neighbor. the wind was blowing cold today, all day and I could visualize the strength of character it took to survive such a lonely existence. The wheat is green and up about 6-10 inches (depending on the water and soil)....today it was green waves of grain across the fields.
Periodically I go to Youtube for music for my soul. Today I found that most of the music I will listen to has been removed. I still have a lot of music on my computer that I put there from CD's, but I will miss exploring the wide variety of native music......today I was looking for the Island music of my mothers father. Keali'i Reichel, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole are both gone now.......and few stores carry such artists in the Pawnee Nation..........
tonight, with another Full Moon, i will integrate even more ancestral Love and Wisdom into my memory and give these memories an extensive presence ... strong and beautiful ...
dancing in the spirit - see what you made me find ...
along with a sheep cloud in the northwestern blue sky ...
Thank you for the video. I will have to order a CD now.
kind of unfair, what do you think is availabe, not only in CD stores, but in the entire "scene"?
should i ignore and pretend only?
