Thanks for thoughts and prayers. I'm heading down the mountain today to stay in a motel as surgery is early in the morning.
I'll see you folks when I get back.

It seems many are failing in health these days. Perhaps it is just that those I know are, like me, getting older............

Quote:
Wilma Mankiller, has been diagnosed with stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer. Mankiller is an author, lecturer and former principal chief of the Cherokee Nation.
Her strength and character is evident in her message to her people. She shows the same strength and character that characterized her tenure as principle chief.

Quote:
I want my family and friends to know that I am mentally and spiritually prepared for this journey — a journey that all human beings will take at one time or another,” Mankiller said. “I learned a long time ago that I can’t control the challenges the Creator sends my way, but I can control the way I think about them and deal with them.

It saddens me to read this, Wilma Mankiller is an extraordinary woman and well respected among our people, she is a woman of strong heart and character and when her time comes she will be greatly missed and if I'm not mistaken, I believe she is the very first woman to be elected principal chief of the nation...

Goodpasture, great news about your partner, sad about Wilma Mankiller. OrionsAngel, thank you, but I'm just trying to keep on the path and give a hand where I can. Ptsum, awesome to have you posting again. Stay strong. If being driven around gets too bad, stick your nose in the air, develop a royal wave and tell them, "Drive on, Jeeves," with an English accent. Ya might as well get a little fun out of it. Well, a little more. Songinthe wind, I hope everything is well with you. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheryl got home yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and the surgery went as expected. She is on ibuprofen and that is working but she has stronger stuff if needed. All of your well wishes and prayers have worked and she should be up and posting in a few days I believe. Her Mom is here taking care of her and has been just great. Thanks for being here for her.

Hey Charlie tell Song we said hi! I hope all is welll for both of you. I know it is not easy for Song as well as not being very easy on yourself either. I am glad everything went fine. Right now patience is your best friend. It will take a little while for things to get back to normal. Best wishes.
