You know what's the sad part of that "civilized nation" moniker? In the end, it didn't get y'all any better treatment than those of us who were considered the "uncivilized savages".

If I recall correctly, you're Comanche. I do believe the Choctaw who were Removed to Oklahoma, though not exactly treated well, were treated less poorly than the Comanche once they got there. They were not, for example, required to live practically under the guns of a large military installation like Fort Sill. The Comanche and Kiowa were.

My direct ancestors, those who chose to remain behind in Mississippi, are a different story. They were quickly cheated out of their property and possessions and, in order to survive, the entire culture had to go "underground." That's why the modern-day Oklahoma Choctaw and the modern-day Mississippi Choctaw are so different.

I think we all know the answer to that question, I'm sorry to say. I am reminded of the folk song Where Have All the Flowers Gone.

I donno. Civilization seems to require a lot of useless rules decided by someone to make themselves seem superior to someone else. It also has a way of discarding common sense and knowledge which has been handed down from generation to generation. I'm not sure I want much to do with it.

When speaking of civilization I am reminded of the words of The Tracker: If today I had a young mind to direct, to start on the journey of life, and I was faced with the duty of choosing between the natural way of my forefathers and that of the.......... present way of civilization, I would, for the welfare, unhesitatingly set that child's feet in the path of my forefathers.

Yes, we civilized people have no scruples for our individual moral ways. We wish to find that the our demoralized state was worth believing in for morals of appearing well to the other Politically Correct.

Peace in your original morality.

I look at civilization the same as I look at religion, there are good and bad in both, it all depends on which side of the fence you're on and who is applying it.
