On Monday, September 14, Ahmed Mohamed, a fourteen-year-old student at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, was arrested after school officials believed his homemade clock was a bomb. Although Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd knew it wasn’t a bomb, Mohamed was arrested anyway on charges of bringing a “hoax bomb” to school. As soon as the story broke nationwide, many people vocally expressed support for Mohamed with the hashtag #IStandWithAhmed, including many within the secular community—the Center for Inquiry, Sarah Morehead, and the American Humanist Association to name a few.

However, despite the overwhelming support for Mohamed, some prominent atheists instead chose to attack him. On September 18, Real Time host Bill Maher defended Mohamed’s arrest because “for the last thirty years, it’s been one culture that has been blowing **** up over and over again” [Correction: Bill Maher did say Ahmed Mohamed deserves an apology]. Also, Richard Dawkins suggested on Twitter that perhaps Mohamed “wanted to be arrested” (although, to be fair, Dawkins did condemn the police for arresting him). Indeed, Maher and Dawkins are two examples of prominent atheists whose criticisms of Islam only promote anti-Muslim bigotry.
Are Hindus the next target for Atheists to foment hate and bigotry. I have been told several times here by a Buddhist Atheist and another person how Christians hate me and my religion. Do they go up to Jews and tell them how they are hated? Do they do this to Black people, tell them how they are hated?
Maybe they think this is part of their community service - sowing hate, bigotry, dissension. Divide and conquer.
Nice job.

1. There is such a thing as context, which you are ignoring completely in the bolded.
2. Is that a quote, or have you generously paraphrased?

I am sure Golden can provide you with quotes, in case your memory fails you. He is very good with that.

He's on my ignore list, but since you're talking about my response to a post (or posts) of yours, I think you should provide the link to the post(s) in question.

But just for the record, it's not appropriate for anyone to be physically attacked over religion, except, of course, in self-defense.

Are you claiming you never said it?
Why dont you prove that, since you know the context.

Do a search on Gldn complaining atheist don't criticize Islam and only go after Christains.

I'm a Secular Humanist that doesn't believe it's racist to criticize religion. All beliefs should have to complete equally. Same rules for everyone.

This thread looks like a personal argument.
