Different religious beliefs, whether Christian, Muslim or Atheist, seem does very good job dividing people up and creating more hate and animosity. This forum is perfect example of it. Atheist and Christian seem always go at it, posting things very negative about each other. In there Christians who are very much divided (in this forum) also about how practice their faith. Wouldn't be surprised to find some of these guys hate each other guts.

Of course, it so much worse out there in real world. People with different religious belief (even in same religious sect) may end up fighting each other or getting killed because of their difference. In fact, even saying your not "religious" will probably start controversy about how much religion should be involved in everyday life.

Some may say it would all be ok if everyone practiced same religion, however that perfect way to start big war. Doubt, you will every get everyone to agree on their beliefs and trying get other believe whatever you want will just get more angry/hate you more. Is there solution for all problem caused by different religious belief, probably not!!!

Many of the wars down through history were fought because of differences in religion. I guess that is why ones mother teaches one not to discuss religion or politics. On those two subjects, I think everybody talks and nobody listens. It's a no winner for conversation. People still discuss religion though because they really care about the souls of others.

This is good point. Some people do go out and speak out because they truly believe they helping others out. However, most people perceive this VERY negatively. It ends creating more division and hate than actually accomplish any good goal.

Atheism is not a religion. It is simply the non-belief in the existence of a god thing.

I don't believe for a moment that christians care about me in sincerity. Atheists do not believe in a soul, nor do buddhists. This atheist looks upon christians as arrogant and sanctimonious when they assume that they know what's best for me. It's a lack of respect that drives the division between me and christians.

God The Just said:
256. There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Tâghût [false deities and false leaders, etc.] and believes in Allâh, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allâh is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

257. Allâh is the Walî (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliyâ (supporters and helpers) are Tâghût [false deities and false leaders, etc.], they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.

I do not believe you can blame it all on dogmatic code alone. Most of the credit can be given to the zealous of the particular religion you want to look at.

A normal Christian will not condemn or even try to convert someone like me but simply "pray that I find Jesus". This doesn't really bother me all that much. However, you will see the other kind of Christian; the zealot that knows all. I have personal experience with this one as my aunt claims Jesus has talked to her and that the Rapture will occur before my 19th birthday (the world, according to her will end before Sep. 15 of this year).

The differences between these two types of Christians should be obvious. This, however, does not apply to Christians alone but to practically every deifying religion out there.

I think that it is the easiest way for us humans to blame others instead of taking responsibility for our own mistakes and learn from them.
So history (and religion) automatically are used to promote a misguided nationalism (group identity).
