Hmph.

I throw in the towel then. If NOBODY wants to even play the 'increments towards absolute truth' game, then I give up...

My head is already spinning from all the truth out there.

There is no truth, and that's the truth!!

Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me".

This is why I only took one philosophy class in college.

Also, I amend my previous statement...I NOW say (because it makes a ton of difference : The closest one could PROBABLY ever come to truth is that there PROBABLY is no real truth.

Or one could say that the truth is subjective.
What is true for you might not be true for me.
I mean because you like chocolate (which is a truth if you do like chocolate) does this mean that everyone likes chocolate.

The fact would be though that *I* like chocolate.

However, I think that it is usually a given for any fair human being that truth is subjective...despite that notion, I thought this discussion was more of a philisophical debate, so I played along and appropriately worded MY belief (the best I could) on the subject of truth.

Maybe you have already noticed it, but I tent more to disagree with people than agree with them.
I usually do not post when I agree with others.
I mean why argue with people when they claim that 2+2=4?
I'd rather argue with people who I believe to claim that 2+2=7.

LMAO! So I am a 2+2=7 person?

THANKS!!!

I get what you're saying though, but I thought the spirit of this thread evolved into trying to word your view in an acceptable way philisophically - so I did. I was not implying my belief is a fact, trust me on that.

Yes ILNC, I would absolutely agree with this. I was having a little fun with TrickyD, but the absolute truth is that there is such a thing as absolute truth. Just look at the little saying under my name ....if that ain't truth, I don't know what is.

Not anymore, since you have convinced me that you only seek the truth instead of wanting to appear as a high-brow philosopher.
