The Bible's Buried Secrets, a new PBS documentary, is likely to cause a furor.

Holy Moses! PBS documentary suggests Exodus not real -- OrlandoSentinel.com (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/tv/orl-exodus2108jul21,0,7755323.story - broken link)
I doubt it will cause a furore. Atheists already knew and theists won't believe it anyway.

We should probably clarify this a bit. Theism /= Christianity. Many theists reject the Abrahamic God and the plagiarized Biblical myths. Those who take issue with findings like this that disprove the Bible would mostly fall into a fringe group of (primarily American) Christian fundamentalist/Biblical literalists.

Most of the world's theists are for the most part educated and accept the facts, including evolution etc.

Fair comment. I said "theist" rather than Christian so that Christians wouldn't play the 'martyr card' and claim that they are always being picked on.

'Nova series producer Paula Apsell says she found it "extremely shocking" to learn that monotheism was a process that took hundreds of years.'

Shows you how ignorant she is - this is an old theory. This has been dealt with nicely by Michael Heiser's Ph.D Dissertation. 'The Divine Council in Late Canonical and Non-Canonical Second Temple Jewish Literature.'

Well worth the read.

From his website MSH Homepage - The dissertation sought to discern the ancient Israelite background to Judaism's "Two Powers in Heaven" godhead teaching.
