I agree with you montana sky.
In my previous post I talked about some US citizens taking guns into their offices/factories.
I think somebody in Kentucky murdered some of his co/workers earlier this month, can you imagine firing somebody carrying a gun?
We had a massacre in England, the murderer was a member of a gun club.
He had an AK47 and he shot everybody he came into contact with.
Soon after the gun laws in the UK were changed and there's been no repeat of that atrocity.

I take it nobody can provide evidence that enacting stricter laws or even banning guns would cause a decrease in violent crimes. I've asked for it already and haven't got it. I rest my case.

No. It's time for people to follow the Bible's teachings and stop corrupting religion. I don't condone the murders committed, but it is possible to understand the anger of the unbalanced shooter. It is not unlike the killings at an abortion clinic. The murders are absolutely wrong but I understand the motivation. Awaiting flaming...

Now there are more murders than ever before in the UK but done with knives.

You can kill someone with your bare hands. Humans are actually rather fragile creatures.

There's to many American people that won't turn loose of their guns in this nation. I dunno about others, but I'm in no hurry to see a bloodbath across America if they decided to collect everyones guns. If they ever do, I hope that I've died of old age first so I don't see the outcome in my lifetime.

South Africa followed the international trend and introduced stricter legislation. Guess what, crime did not decrease.

When an AK47 can be had for $5 or so, you think the govt would realise the problem does not lie with legitimate weapons but illegal ones.

Recent footage of bank robberies showed a gang all with AK47's now where does one buy that legally? At least not in SA.

My thoughts exactly. Criminals don't care about the law, so when you ban guns, you're only taking them away from honest citizens. I remember this interview with an ex-gang member from LA. He said, and I quote, "Banning guns makes things easier for us. We don't have much opposition if people don't have guns."

I would also like to point out that there are always ways around most gun laws. Take the California ban on assault weapons for instance. When you ban assault weapons, you have to make a criteria for what is included. That just means you can modify your guns until it doesn't mean the criteria anymore. I'm sure you've heard of 'California Friendly' weapons before.

posters here may be OK with 5,285 children and teens being killed (homicide and suicide) by guns in one year in the USA, but many human beings and parents are NOT ok with this. those teens are not gang members, nor are they criminals, nor are they 3rd world countries with assault weapons. They are small town middle class america who get the guns from home, easily, from their parents and other family members who always say it's "out there" with the bad guys, the criminals, therefore they have these guns lying around their homes, that's where the children get them.

It is our very own children in this country are getting slaughtered. You may be ok with that, i am not. If the guns weren't lying around for the kids to get, they wouldn't be committing suicide and homicide.
