I have believed in God ever since I was about 4 or 5 years old..I heard a bedtime story from my mom about angels and God and she told us the "Now I lay me down to sleep prayer"..We were poor, it was winter, and the four of us little kids were cold..So I said a simple childlike prayer about an angel keeping us warm..To shorten this story..I could feel warmth coming from the foot of the bed and creeping up to cover all of us..The faith of a child somehow stayed with me and has grown into an adult, but the faith of a child is still the reason I believe simply because there is no proof except to myself. No voices, no visions, no dreams, just an answer to a childs prayer..
So why did you have to ask the angel to keep you warm? It's your GUARDIAN ANGEL it should know what you need and take care of it without your asking.
The moral of the story is, the mind is fabulous at imagining all sorts of things.

I was 4 or 5 years old!!! Guardian Angel????
The moral of this story is.. The love of a mother brings comfort to her child, because the child has faith in what her mother teaches
God made Himself real to me when I was an atheist, and if He had not then I'm fairly sure I'd still be one. Any other 'ex-atheists' here?
Yes . . . I experience the reality of God every day in meditation.

Believe it or not - there is a certain logic to 'faith'. Going back to the Hebrew, is does NOT mean "belief with no real evidence" (as our English word 'faith' commonly does). It simply means to be absolutely convinced of something. To be totally confident and firm as to the truth of a thing.

As I recall, you mentioned angels first.
