They're not. This is about actions taken against any and all forms of Christianity. The ACLU, liberals, and Democrats always shout "Separation of Church and State",...which does not exist in the US Constitution, but their mantra seems to only apply to Christian based religions and exclude Wiccans, Jews, and Muslims.
Entirely untrue - I believe in separation of church and state for ALL religions.
I don't know why they don't want Christmas trees - those trees have long since been adopted as a cultural phenomenon way beyond the bounds of a particular religion. This is silliness in my opinion.
You know. Christmas has come to the point of being offensive. Yes, this may sound like some bits from a godless liberal but I don't think that there is a person one on this forum that can honestly say that Christmas hasn't become obnoxious.
Some of you say that there is some liberal atheist agenda against christians. Or maybe people are getting tired of christianity. It's true that there are good christians out there, there are a lot of them. But a lot of people are sick and tired of the Jerry Falwell and Fred Phelps types. People get sick and tired of religious groups trying to run the show in everyone's bedroom. People get sick and tired of one religious group after another preaching that they have the right answer and that the guys across the street that believe in the same god are wrong. People get sick and tired of people like Dubbya saying that he talks to god and god gave him the rubber stamped okie dokie to invade the cradle of civilization.
People get sick of hearing about one nation under god (which was edited in by the way), founded on christian ideals by good christians that reaped genocide and nearly exterminated an entire race of people then in the same breath enslaved yet another race of people. Us liberals, gays, Atheists, ACLU and NORML members, democrats and otherwise pinko commies don't need to do anything to your religion - it is well on it's way to ruining itself via its own truth and light. Christianity has had its way for 2000 years and the world is still where the universe puts its enema tube.
When it comes to christmas, we get tired of seeing the suburbanite mom-squatches getting in fistfights on black friday along with people getting trampled to death. then we spend millions upon millions on $200 trees that have been cut down to stand in a corner for a month then be taken to the dump - that is a little offensive in its own right.
I don't know how to make it any more clear. This beloved holiday isn't even the right day and is just a filthy pagan holiday. It's fake, overcomercialized, obsolescent and a farce. We can't run up credit card bills to buy crap then watch a wonderful life, preach some peace on earth and godwill then have some clean slate like we're greater than we are.
