I'm curious: is that gradual or all-or-nothing? In other words, do you believe that we live longer if we sin less, or only that those who do not sin at all (if that's even possible in your belief system) will live forever?

Christ came to show the way to perfection and explain mercy, forgiveness and grace according to the laws of love. If we sin, we have an advocate, if we sin intentionally we grieve the advocate and He leaves us to our choices. So i believe that it is grace by grace, until we are wrapped in the power and glory of our maker, and caught up to dwell with Him. Just as Enoch, Elijah, Moses, and many others.

Degree's of sin can have an effect on longevity in the majority, there are minority instances where the degree's of sin are not the primary causation of death. Apparently we are all given a certain mission, and amount of time in which we may choose a path and become.

godspeed,

freedom

Oh, Fido surely is one of the most wretched of sinners! Right up there with Fluffy.

They counted years by the rotation of the moon, has been proven that many cultures used this method, including Abraham's culture, for many many current years before and after he was born and died. Fact.
I doubt primitive man lived that long and if any thing we live longer now due to medical advancements.
But don't take me wrongly i still believe that he was a prophet ect i just believe the years were recorded differently.
Also a theory that has some proof to it, the reason we die is a combination of things. Health size, how fast the heart beats and most importantly the amount of chloroplast in your bones.

Yes, many ancient calendars are based on the phases of the moon.
However the math looks good for those who are older, but not younger...
There are 13 lunar cycles a year

Adam 930 = 71 years
Noah 950 = 73

Abraham 175 = 13
Moses 120 = 9

Abraham and his wife were old when they were told they would have a son.

Please explain how this age was calculated? Were wrong timelines used? Miscalculations? What are the "actual" ages of those charachters, if they indeed existed.
It wasn't calculated - it was just thrown in there by whoever wrote the individual stories. It's all stories made by men. It's not to be taken literally.
