Markets worldwide are hitting lows - god took this opportunity to buy some stock of companies that make bombs.

Seriously - I think OP's question is very good and raises basic issues that people of god cannot seem to address - which side is god taking in a war where the religious component is quite important.

Why would your deity (if he existed) choose sides in a human conflict? I'd think an all-powerful, all-loving deity wouldn't stoop so low. After all, it's a petty squabble by two ignorantly biased sides, trying to kill each other for no more reason than they can't manage to live in peace side by side. The completely shameful part of it is, according to the xtian bible and also the muslim koran, the sides are descended from the same ancestor -- Abraham. Brothers killing brothers. You really think your deity would choose a side in an atrocity like that? I believe he'd turn his face away from both, if he's the god that you all claim he is.

God wills it!

If it's a Christian God, he shouldn't be on either side because thou shalt not commit murder. If he is an Islamic God, he's on both sides because you're allowed to defend yourself, which is what both sides are doing. If he is a Jewish God, then he is probably on the side of "God's chosen people."

I'm wondering about this myself...It seems to be a very strange topic to be posted by an atheist.

ARGUMENT FROM INTEREST
(1) If God really doesn’t exist than atheists wouldn’t spend so much time talking about him.
(2) [Atheist refutes (1).]
(3) Therefore, God exists.

I believe this to be a good summation.

Actually, I marvel at how the truth still shines through “sarcasm”. Use it wisely, for our words reveal our heart.
