So we have discussed Abraham [allegedly] being asked to murder his son as some sick show of commitment to a voice in the sky. Well what about Moses? He seemed to have had a problem with people using their "free will" to serve other deities other than the one he ordered them to. Here's how we are told he prescribed dealing with this:
Quote:
If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Deuteronomy 13:6-10
Would you have obeyed Moses who was supposedly "inspired" by God?
It's uncanny how similar that sounds to a jealous husband turned psychopath on his cheating wife. God, the same one Christians call Jesus, inspired people to murder others because of such petty jealousy, even after giving those people free will to follow any god they want.
I think both Moses and Abraham were about six sticks short of a load....Both heard voices in their heads. We all know what that is a sign of today, but then those folks were thought to have a direct line to God....Remember David Berkowitz? He is just one of many that have killed on "God's command".
Yes, I would if I was Moses. Look at what he finally got in the out come. When Jesus transfigured himself Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with him. Meaning Moses is in Heaven.

Funny you would pick up on that. Read the book of Hosea. It's all about a guy who marries a prostitute at God's command. There are also a few parables that equate marriage with God's relationship to people.
Logic, you're getting closer to understanding God than you realize.
