Prayer is just talking to God. As Christians, we believe in having a personal relationship with God. This relationship is formed through talking (praying) to God.

The benifits of prayer is that God listens. Since God is creator and in control, he can answer pray and change the situation. God has heard my prayers many times. I have seen amazing things happen from healing to protection from harm. I have prayed God to cause people not to see things and they didn't even though they looked right at it. God is not a wish granter, but when you spend your life serving him, he enables you. When you spend you life serving the Lord, you begin to know him and begin to understand what to pray for.

For some reason God wants us to be concerned and pray for a situation before he will act upon it. Even though he can do anything, he waits on us.

Can't meet something that is only a fantasy. Well, unless you're mentally ill.

Such judgmental certainty can only be born of extremely negative experiences with those whose absurd beliefs and ideas of God lead them to obnoxious interactions with others (fanatic Muslim terrorists, Fundamentalists, etc.) I'm sorry that SOME of those who believe in God tend to be such irrational and obnoxious people. But then again . . . there are so many humans and such obnoxiousness is not exactly rare.

So then you see how ridiculous your own assertions appear to people that don't believe as you do then. Good.

An explanation which may seem far-out but I have been taught that it works like this.....

It has nothing to do with any one particular religion, but it applies to all religions.

Thoughts are living energy in a dimension that we cannot generally see (the one above this one), so when you think a thought, it creates the 'thought form' in this other dimension that will eventually come into being in this dimension.

This is how prayers, 'wishing something to happen, positive thought, negative thinking, black magic, remote healing, etc etc - all these things, work. Prayers are supposed to be concentrated energy directed by your will, in a specific way.

When you get all these people directing their energy(praying) in the same way, it becomes a powerrful force for good (or 'evil') - depending on what is thought about or wished for.

Some people are better at creating what they wish for than others. People who are really good at this can manifest things out of thin air and the things they will, are first created in the other dimension, and then immediately become matter in this dimension so it appears here.

Thats my take on the subject, believe it or not, it doesn't matter.

They contradict no known science and are completely in accord with it.

I like to pray when I get tired of talking to myself. God is the most patient, tireless, and comforting
listener of all but he tends to speak very quietly after deliberating so it's best to have patience oneself.
He loves to surprise. I've never felt so right about being so wrong. Oh, and he never forgets my name.
