Not really. It's actually pretty interesting. It was all written in Hebrew/Greek, and a little Aramaic. Then, there's the question of canonicity, translations, etc.

In fact, you will be pleasantly surprised if you really did search out the Quran in a systematic and non-biased manner
I specifically said BIBLE now didn't I ?

THAT IS PRICELESS !!!!!!!

That should go into the new and improved testament of the Bible (I will get right on that after I finish revising American History for the 6th grade class next year) Man I wish I could give you a million rep points for that
And on so many levels that is so true.

I remember a couselor in college telling me that if I just wanted a Master's degree for the sake of having one, then consider theology, as he said "It is a cakewalk, just show up and say yes every day and you get the degree" NOW I am not aying all people who are involved are that way and not all programs are that way (The majority are) My uncle took a master's in theology at one of those "Seminaries" , then went to a real university and got a Ph.D in Psychology a few years later.

I have heard that so many times in chruches growing up and from religious people that I don't even respond to it anymore. But you are right. That is about the depth of what is taught most of the time. Been there, done that, moved on.

I have done that and considerably more . . it is why I refer to such things as part of the "scriptural fossil record." We are so biased as physical creatures in a physical world we forget that the most significant part of us is non-physical (spiritual). What distinguishes us most and provides us with our superiority is this non-physical component. Yet all our effort has been expended in investigating the evolution of our physicality . . . not our spirituality. Yet . . . since there is a design (DNA, RNA, etc.) that underlies the evolution of our physicality (let's not debate how the design came about, please . . . there are other threads for that) . . . why would we think that design wouldn't be reflected in our spirituality as well. In fact, as seen here, the very existence and evolution of a spiritual blueprint (DNA) reflected in the "fossils" (recordings of our spiritual musings . . . myths, legends, religions, etc.) is inappropriately seen as disconfirmation of any such design (e.g., plagiarization, re-interpretation, etc.). It is clear to me that such a design is there and it is in peoples separated in ways that would suggest that any communication between them was extremely unlikely. Why is it so difficult to believe that there is a DNA pattern for our brains that not only enables this spirituality but demands it (as the ultimate purpose of our spiritual capabilities?). Just food for thought in this discussion . . . (my personal views have been widely explained elsewhere).

I guess that is why Oral Roberts Universitity Medical School must have lost their accredidation.

The lecture there would be
HI Welcome to medical School. Read and memorize Mark Chapter 16 verse 18 and then we will go out and cure everyone simply by touching them. Here is your diploma. Have a good life!

the problem with researching the bible is that there is no 1 bible, as long as it has existed there have been variations of it. its not like they had the printing press and could mass produce one single copy of it. each copy had to be hand written and translated, which causes variation. and each variation opens new interpretations and people are forced to choose what parts they believe are legit and which were just written by random people at random times in history. and when u start choosing ur parts of the bible then u cant prove anything about it. The bible is a collection of stories written across 2 millenia, nothing in it can ever be taken as literal fact
