Those who believe the events in the bible are brainwashed. If people would only "open their eyes" and see for themselves, instead of listening to a bunch of religious leaders, they will see that Christianity is nothing short of a big lie. In order to believe the bible, one must completely shut-down all human logic and intelligence and believe events that are illogical, goes against the natural order of events and makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah...You're right--but it is sooooooo much fun poking them and listening to their silly responses.

You have just defined the magic of "faith" my friend. Able to leap tall stories in a single bound and stronger than any doubt.

One man's faith is another man's stupidity.

I don't think "stupidity" is the right word. I think "deluded" or "afraid" might be better.

Put them together and you have the compilation of different cultures throughout history describing their God/Gods.

That is so true--Vedic, Egyptian, Hebrew, Greek, Sumer, and interestingly, even some myths from germanic tribes.

One of the names of the Hebrew God YHWH used in the parts of the Old Testament believed to have been written the earliest, is 'Elohim', which is morphologically plural. In other words, the name's referring to more than one god. 'Elohim' is the word for God that is used in Genesis 1:1.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elohim
//
The meaning of Elohim is further complicated by the fact that it is used to describe the spirit of the dead prophet Samuel, raised by Saul in 1 Samuel 28:13. The witch of Endor tells Saul that she sees 'gods' (elohim) coming up out of the earth; this seems to indicate that the term was indeed used simply to mean something like 'divine beings' in ancient Israel.

Genesis Chapt. 38:27-30.

" 27 When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb. 28 As she was giving birth, one of them put out his hand; so the midwife took a scarlet thread and tied it on his wrist and said, "This one came out first." 29 But when he drew back his hand, his brother came out, and she said, "So this is how you have broken out!" And he was named Perez. [a] 30 Then his brother, who had the scarlet thread on his wrist, came out and he was given the name Zerah."

I take enough OB call for anesthesia to tell you this event is impossible! A baby cannot reach down through the birth canal past another baby. After reading this birth experience, one gets the impression that the babies can move around freely in the womb at term!
