Well considering that scientists won't tell us:

1) from which animal man came
2) When this happened
3) Who the first speaking man or men were
4) When they appeared on earth
5) Where they lived
6) How many there were

Then it's atheists who blindly believe a story that not even the authors can back up!

But we believe incest because incest happens in the real world. It's that simple.

It's great that you're curious and that you're asking specific, probing questions, but consider that science at any one time doesn't have *all* the answers to all our specific questions of today. The sciences that deal with origins of things on Earth are limited in their theories to the evidence that has actually been discovered. In some cases, we can deduce trends and probabilities from the evidence that has already been acquired, such as where the continets used to be located, relative to each other, millions of years ago.

However, consider how many answers *have* been found by scientists to questions that were stated in the past, such as "do black holes, predicted by Einstein's theories, actually exist?" and "where did the moon come from?"

It is clear that the scientific method WORKS. This is why many educated people, especially those in the scientific community, believe that it is therefore only a matter of time before many, many more answers to questions that we have today will be found with a high degree of certainty, which is about the best we can expect from scientific knowledge.

No they don't have all the answers. So putting one's faith in scientists is as foolish as putting one's faith in shifting sand because the one statement we can always count on from scientists is; "We now know that what we once thought was true is not true."

So scientists need to read Job 38 to see why it's foolish to make up stories about the creation of the universe, earth and origin of man.

Truth is not found in our preferences. When Cain took his wife from among his close relatives, he was not committing incest. There was at that time no law forbidding such a thing since God had at first ordained it. He later changed His laws concerning it when it was no longer necessary. Once God declared it unlawful, it became incest.
That's interesting, I thought that God's laws were absolute and unchanging. Does it actually say anywhere in the Bible that incest was ok during one period of time and then it was forbidden or are you just making that up to explain how Adam and Eve could have populated the earth? If he did change one of his laws, is that the only one or have there been others?

I guess it falls under the large umbrella of: "Whatever we don't like about the depiction of God in the Old Testament doesn't matter because of the existence of the New Testament."

No area of human endeavor, including religion, has *all* the answers. Sheesh, the God of the Bible didn't see fit to explain how to make something as basic as a bar of soap. Explain to me again how much God loves us.

Sorry, but God has all the answers. But one has to open his eyes to God to know that.

As Paul Simon wrote in the song Slip Sliding Away, "God lives alone. God makes his plans. The information's not available to the mortal man."

People who says that "God has all the answers" are stating mumbo-jumbo. Every other "holy man" anywhere in the world says the same thing, yet those men don't talk to each other, continue to spout incompatible theories of the origins of the universe and mankind, and espouse differing systems of social order, government, and modes of worship. I guess God isn't giving the same answers to everyone everywhere at the same time. Maybe he's just playing around with humans. God only spoke authoritatively to a guy in the Middle East who thought he needed to murder his own son to please him. These are myths and a basis for conserving identity and social cohesion among a tribe.

1 Corinthians 2:14, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from God for they are foolishness to him and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned."

Man can only understand what man's spirit understands. So he can only understand God by the Spirit of God.

You've collected your mental faculties to the extent that you can operate a computer and compose text that is published to the entire world on the Internet, yet you still believe in the literal truth of the stories found in the Bible. The more I encounter this among present-day Americans, the more difficult I find it to believe.
