I heard someone pose this question recently, talking about their own actions in a certain circumstance. They said, "Is this the person God wants me to be?"

It got me thinking. If you had to put in words how would you answer questions like these... "Who does God want me to be? Who is the person God wants me to be? What kind of person does God want me to be?"

And this is answering for you yourself individually, since we don't get to tell anyone else how to live their life. This is about taking responsibility for our own actions, thoughts, beliefs, way of walking through life.

Who says we can't tell others how to live? By making that statement aren't you, in effect, telling us how to live?

Sorry, Princess, if i do understand your post correctly, the continuation of your thought would be a terrible discontinuity of "re-ligio" with about 6.5 billion "individuals" in competition ....

what an achievement!

Taking a large leap here, by in large it is the duty of parents to raise their children so that they no longer need the parents, they become self-sufficient. To me, at least, if this myth of a god did exist, I suspect it would want all of us to grow up and not need it anymore, fairy tales do not harm children, it is sad to watch adults still live by them.

Not so, separating this from the whole context of the question is what causes you to question, however keeping it within the whole question, it is merely a question, not a statement, which merely shows the kind of person that you are. One who questions everything.

The kind of person that my Creator wishes me to be is the one that I already am and that is something that I cannot change, nor do I wish to. I am the kind of person who would question things and use common sense when answering questions, I do not rush to judgment, too many mistakes can be made by rushing to judgment.

People who need a god are the neediest people in the world. Some people plan on needing a god after they die. Just like a drug addiction, god is a never ending need.

I think a better question is "Who and what do I want to be?" Then, once you answer that, the thing to do is work towards becoming that.

your may have just leapt a bit too far, if i understand what you are trying to convey.

i happen to know how the ancients would raise their children - to be their own selves, but the bond never being disconnected.

I find the question completely irrelevant. If you asked me "What does the Tooth Fairy want me to be?" I'd have the same answer.
