It's called the human condition, regardless of faith, we are still subject to it. Faith does not make one perfect, whatever the definition of the word. And lack of any faith or religion does not make one perfect either. That is the very reason we (all) need God. No need to rolleyes at the fallibility of man (and woman). It is a condition we are born with. There are no surprises there and you might as well point a finger at yourself as you point at Christians. Without acknowledgement of moral absolutes, the downward spirals in society are to be expected - in fact, they are unavoidable.

As for the post about religion being evil -- it's not. It is what people do with it that can be evil.

Teen pregnancy comes from teaching only abstinence and not addressing birth conrtol.

Actually . . . I believe it comes from teenagers having unprotected sex . . . regardless what you teach.

What?!?!?! I thought the stork brought babies...

Alright... Could someone explain what is going on here? What is this 'unprotected sex' thing everyone keeps referring to? Could someone give me an explanation? Perhaps some pictures??

Very true, and the instances of true believers, and I mean true believers who put the meaning into practice, are few. For most of its history, religion has been the excuse and the catalyst for war, oppression, and many more evil deeds than good deeds. All you have to do is look back to the earliest days of history and up to present day, and religion has generally been a main ingredient for suffering.

To name but a few:

Israelites and Egyptians
Romans and the Christians
Muslims, Christians and the Crusades
Spanish Inquisition
Salem witch trials
Muslims and Hindus in Indian subcontinent
Spanish Catholics and destruction of the Incas and Aztecs
Extermination of the Jews in the Holocaust in WWII
Middle East turmoil with Israel
Muslim terrorism all over the world
Catholic and Protestant violence going on in Ireland for centuries

and on and on and on.

Does Islamic ideology receive heroism as a valued form of religious practice for the organized bureaucrats? Say in Libya; I have an imaginaton here.
