So I guess when we develop antibiotics/cures, we are thus greater than god's creation of plagues?

Do we sin if we take these medicines?

This goes equally for religion as well. Look at the sad state of affairs with regard spiritual cleanliness of most churches. They have only themselves to blame for their downfall and not God. It's simply a natural process of things in place and when mankind mismanages his environment, then other things they are ignorrant of come to the fore. Don't want to see all these churches go down hill, then start following what the good holy book actually says. It's called cause and effect. How about reap what you sow ??? The last intelligent thing you should be doing is blaming God for mankind's own intellectual socially engineered mistakes.

The same on the other hand is true of many of these very real epidemics worldwide and this sort of orgasmic euphoric celebration of mutations at the expense of the innocent as proof of another god's existance. Rather than many here focussing on it's natures fault, why not put the blame for such squarely where it belongs, mankind's mismanagement of our planet ??? Financial greed , arrogance , ignorance , etc are the cause and reasons for the effect. Remove the cause and you remove the effect.

Seems both sides here like to blame their own gods rather than focusing on the real issues.

This is obviously evolution in action and we see it all the time with new emerging strains of viruses appearing every year. For those who don't believe that evolution happens how can you explain this phenomenon? These are clearly organisms that have come into existence very recently. Creationists claim that God created every living thing so does that also include the Swine Flu virus?
Back in 1997 there were researcher's who went up to the small Eskimo villge of Brevig where the frozen Tundra still exists on the Seward Penninsula. They were digging up one of the body of a young woman who fell victim to the Spanish flu back around 1918. What they were hoping for was a frozen example of the virus that may still have been in her lungs. They hoped that through modern science and genetic techniques, they could isolate and identify the virus.

We know that viruses can spread rapidly from person to person by respitory secretions originating from coughing, sneezing or simply speaking to another. The spooky thing is that once these things infects a cell, it can multiply and replicate itself 100,000 to a million in about 10 hours from that first cell. This particular type is worse than AIDS virus. The copies made are certainly not all exact and therefore some of them can escape the body's emmune system. That's why we have different flu viruses every year. Hence a whole new set of antigens is presented to test our immune systems. If it's significant like this present virus, it's labled a pandemic. This one being one that infects both humans and animals makes it scary. It's thought or believed that the pig can be a host for viruses infecting avain viruses from ducks, chickens, etc. Also equally viruses effecting humans. Apparently if a pig becomes infected with both types, one from animals and another from humans, then it seems that the genes of both types can mix together. The result is a new type of influenza for which humans have no immunity.

The experts have known all along that what happened in 1918 could happen again. Want the real cause ??? Here's what "London's National Institute for Medical Research"
Quote:
In some ways, conditions prevail as they did in 1918: there is a huge volume of international travel due to the development of transport, there are a number of war-zones with their inherent problems of malnutition and poor hygiene, the world population has grown to six and a half billion and a greater proportion of this population is living in Urban situations many of which have decaying infrastructures in terms of waste disposal."
Don't you just love all of mankind's scientific genius and advances ???

Cause and effect. Remove the cause and the effect goes away.

Feed, factory farms cheap feed - The Issues - Sustainable Table
Farm animals, like humans, are healthiest when they eat certain foods. Cows, have stomachs that are designed to digest grass. Pigs can digest grass, corn, grains, soy and other plants. Chickens and turkeys can eat plants as well as bugs and worms found on the pasture. When animals are fed conventional (or industrial) feed, which can include animal products, antibiotics, and other unnatural substances such as chewing gum and chicken manure, their health is put in jeopardy. And when an animal is unhealthy, the meat and other products made from it will also be less healthy. Because factory farms are profit-driven, these operations use the cheapest feed available to fatten up their animals, with no regard to animal health or the health of humans who eat their products. Some of the unwholesome products that can be found in farm animal feed are meat from animals of other or the same species, meat from diseased animals, bits of feathers, hair, skin, hooves, blood, manure and other animal waste, plastics, antibiotics and unhealthy amounts of grain.
It is even worse with pigs that eat almost anything offered to them.

I guess the real swine are the humans.

"Parts Is Parts"

One of the worst Factory Farm practices are the use of dead animal proteins as your links so effectively brings out. It's been going on in the United States for years. In the mega egg producing farms, the ground up animal protein has always been used in the feed, and let's be honest here, they are'nt giving generous healthy portions of Filet Mignon or T-Bone Steak as a foundational basis for their super high protein poultry feed. Most likely it's the hideous left over parts of anything and everything. I remember watching a documentary from "60 Minutes" back sometime in the 1980s (or guessing here) where chicken processing Industry manufacturers produced the marketing idea of selling various specific parts for the consumer. There were many chickens in those assembly lines that had cancerous and other diseased parts that were simply cut out (as shown by the hidden camera) and the good looking meat saved and used as various Thigh, Breast, Wing or Leg parts for separate packaging. The parts cut out were simply reused in the feed industry and those good looking parts for consumption to humans. It reminded me of that all to famous old "Wendy's" commercial which coined the famous phraze, "Parts is Parts"

YouTube - Wendy's Commercial - Parts is Parts

For me , after watching that documentary, the product called, "Chicken Nuggets" were given a whole new meaning.

This same industry practice is what gave our world of humankind "Mad Cow Disease". But mommy, isn't that just yet another proof of our Evolutionary god does exist ??? Yes johnny, and we have our beloved geniuses to thank for it.

Don't you just love and trust science and worship the very ground scientists walk on ???

The virus is still a virus. The swine flu virus is not an organism that has just come into existance. This is not evolution in action (primarily because there is no evolution, unless you losely define evolution as "change", then putting on new underware or the presidency of Obama is evolution aswell!).

The common cold has over 3000 signatures that is why your body does not recognize it and you can easily get a cold every year. There is a number of things that could have happened to the DNA in this virus to cause it to infect humans, but to spout "evolution" is wrong.

Lol, guess I’m feeling a little sarcastic today. Forgive me. Or strike me down with a deadly disease.
Your choice.
Maybe being stricken by the disease is a matter of "free will".
Or could it be that some were praying for a contagious disease to circulate?

I like the post about god's love pertaining to the Swine Flu outbreak. That's a good one.

It evolved, and man evolved the knowledge to make the drugs to knock it out easily. It's no real threat unless you're stuck in a third world country without access to decent medical care. Otherwise...whatever.

it certainly evolved; have the overeaters ever given a single thought to livestock farming, eh?
