Default Did God Create The Swine Flu Virus Or Did It Evolve?

For the last couple of days there have been major headlines about the swine flu virus and how quickly it seems to be spreading. This is a virus that has mutated and jumped from one species to another, pigs to humans, and now it can easily spread between humans. This is obviously evolution in action and we see it all the time with new emerging strains of viruses appearing every year. For those who don't believe that evolution happens how can you explain this phenomenon? These are clearly organisms that have come into existence very recently. Creationists claim that God created every living thing so does that also include the Swine Flu virus?

Default Yes God did

In the book of Daniel in The Old testament, in Levitacus,Ezekial and on, to Revelations It says God will add plagues to men as long as they acted wickedly. If he puts them here he creates them, that is who God is The Creator. To many churches and there Leadership only preach of a ever so soft God, He is the meaning of love, and love initself, but he has a wrathfull side. The word says He is the same then as He is now, and how He will always be, never changing. God is the one in control of all. Thank you Daniel

Yeah MontanaGuy.
Whats wrong with you? Don’t you know any good father would infect his children with deadly diseases.

Lol, guess I’m feeling a little sarcastic today. Forgive me. Or strike me down with a deadly disease.
Your choice.

Well some of the life that exists in the form of microbes does in fact cause sickness and death such as the swine flu virus. Life exists in a great many forms but some of the most dangerous living things are so small you can't see them without a microscope. My question is a simple one, if God created all living things is he also responsible for creating organisms which have recently come into existence or are they the result of evolution?

I don't think that particular flu virus is recent, but it jumped from pigs to man in 1968 and began in Hong Kong, causing over a million deaths world wide. Viruses are constantly changing (mutating) in order to fool a mammals immune system.

In a paper published in today's edition of the journal Science, the team of scientists from the United States and Europe describe their work quantifying and visualizing the antigenic and genetic evolution of the influenza A (H3N2) virus from its initial introduction into humans in 1968 up to 2003. The study resulted in a map that shows the virus evolved as a series of 11 closely related virus clusters as it has sought to elude human immunity over the decades.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And if some good reaches them, they say, ‘This is from Allaah,’ but if some evil befalls them, they say, ‘This is from you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم).’ Say: ‘All things are from Allaah’”

[al-Nisa’ 4:78], then in the next verse He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allaah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself”.

How can we reconcile between them?

He replied:

They may be reconciled by noting that the first verse refers to the decree of Allaah, i.e., it is from Allah;
He is the one who decrees it.

The second verse refers to the cause
i.e., whatever of evil befalls you, you are the cause, and the One Who decrees evil and decrees the punishment for it is Allaah. End quote.

Liqaa’aat al-baab il-Maftooh (no. 15, question no. 15).
And Allaah knows best.
Islam QA - Evil is part of the creation of Allaah and not attributing it to Allaah is part of proper verbal etiquette

I'm amazed at the snarky, mocking attittude daily. You guys would get a lot farther in the discussion if you'd just give a little respect.

Here, my map is much superior to your's and a little easier for the common Layman folks to understand.
