I fully admit that men are physically stronger (overall) and different from women, so it's only fair they should carry the heavy boxes! But that's why I don't call myself a feminist, even though I believe in equal rights for women. Does that make any sense??
I agree..... and since you are smaller, and lower to the ground, it's only fair that you do all the light, tedious work like cooking and scrubbing toilets
...and yes, I think I believe what you believe. Women should be equals whenever possible, but lets face facts.......
Some things are just better handled by women than men and vice versa.

That's where I'm at with the feminism thing.

Camille Paglia once said that if the world was comprised solely of women, that we'd all still be living in grass huts. That's a statement that is clever, but not wise. If the world were comprised solely of men, all there'd be is a bunch of burned out ruins of grass huts, and skulls.
There are a number of species in the animal kingdom where one gender is dominant, and the other is more or less vestigial. But Homo Sapiens isn't one of them.
I dont think men and woman living as equals would be sad thing at all.
Men and women may not be completely equal as far as society is concerned and that is wrong but in the eyes of God they are and always will be equal.
I wasn't meaning that being equal would be sad but I think it would be sad if society forsook the traditional Patriarchal order of things.

In my home, I am the boss, guess roles are reversing!!!
The extremist lunatics are always the ones who get the press though.
What some of these man haters come out and say, lol, it's absurd.

Yes, of course.
But, we're talking about them, are we not? Those people should be about as relevant as people who think we're all controlled by space aliens, unless we wear little yarmulkes made out of tin foil. We're not trying to refute those fruitcakes.
Well, I think I will weigh in on this one. I've been with my hubby since 1976. So I consider myself well seasoned in the topic of marriage. The obey part of the vows would have bothered me years ago. Now it doesn't. Because I have a husband who would NEVER instruct me to do something. He always ask me to do something. It all boils down to what kind of Man is in the marriage.
I have to tell yeah, back in the seventies, if someone tried to order me around in my house, I'd do what my mom did to dad. He tried to instruct her in the art of making oatmeal. He ended up wearing it
Now I'm much more mellow. I would just ask him...what he is making for breakfast
Ok let's get this straight here; honoring (which so many conveniently leave out) and obeying your husband does not mean cleaning the house, fixing meals, doing yard work, or really anything worldly. It is a spiritual principle!
And therefore if you are not spiritually minded you are not going to understand it.
There is the English word, 'love.' However, in Greek, the language of the New Testament, there are three words; eros, philos, and agape. Eros is the love a man has for a woman; philos, the love he bears for his friend; and, agape, which means (I think) the love someone has for an idea, an ideal, or a nation.
Perhaps, 'obey' has a little different meaning in Greek, one that implies not a submission, but a harmony of wills. Perhaps, we're arguing about nothing?
