Jesus is not a pacifist.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.

I think you can find verses that support both versions of Jesus, (and in the OT God). Sometimes he is described as bringing peace, and others, he is a God of war.

So, from everything I've read it sounds like we are no different than any other country or group of people fighting in a war backed by Gods words. Some agree some don't but basically you can make it out to suit your commitment be it killing, or turning the other cheek, am I right? For those of you who think God backs the war then we are having a war between Gods so to speak. Our believe vs someone else's? Am I correct?

Very good question! Well, I think that Jesus would never have got into a situation that would have endangered him (from our earthly perspective) - his heavenly father guided his steps and the angels surrounded him and kept him from what was NOT intended to happen. Jesus surrended to the violence of the cross to make a way for us to reach him and heaven.....but otherwise - I believe he controlled his enviornment more than we could understand - more than I can understand......Look how he was able to ride a donkey into Jerusalem, one that had never before been ridden!!! An impossible task for anyone else but Jesus. The whole earth is his and bends its knee to his will - which makes the way Jesus surrendered and gave himself up to die for our sins so amazing!!! He really didn't have to!!

our minds today ARE CAPABLE of understanding, translating, interpreting the different "levels" of a synchronicity that would render jesus an absolute exception in his day.

imho, it is time to give credit to all the different disciplines (with disciples of all "kinds") developing and contributing to a wholistic and wholesome understanding. as well as adjusting our expressive talents and communication skills accordingly.
