I am intolerant because I’m upset that these events are occurring. I am intolerant because I do not embrace others religions. I’m offensive and a stench to society because of my religious beliefs. Am I the intolerant one? You cannot tolerate my faith, Christianity because you want to “do your own thing…live and let live.” Why am I slapped for my so-called intolerance, and yet it is ok for you to be intolerant of my faith?

I’m told to keep my faith to myself…it’s a private thing. If you consider yourself a Christian, you’ll remember that Jesus and the apostles did not keep it to themselves. They spoke to people about their faith. If you’re not a Christian, you don’t have to concern yourself with this specific.

You keep telling me to shape up; you’re not going to tolerate my religious beliefs anymore. Stop being double-minded. Stop commanding tolerance from me when you’re unwilling to tolerate me.

Only thing I am intolerant about when it comes to Chrisitanity is that most of them ARE NOT Christians. And when you say you "share your views", have you ever stopped and thought "Hey maybe they don't wanna hear my views"? I for one am about sick and ****ing tired of being told I am going to hell by a so called Christian and then seeing the same fool drunk, high, cursing everyone, etc.

I did not read the whole thread but from what I saw I guess Im the minority here. I do beeive in Christ and I am Christian. Was originally Catholic when I was going through my divorce I was called to the Preists office to tell me that my boys would not be accepted in the school anymore because one of the teacher and also a parent did not agree with our divorce. I pulled them out of that school and went to a Lutheran school...they and myself were accepted. I later joined a CHristian church and love it. I feel the Lords love ALL around me. I donot recruit anyone or push my religion in anyones face.

In my neighborhood many Pentecostals knock on my door. I am breif, polite, and take there information/pamphlet and say good & close my door. I will not be rude because they dont have my reliigious beliefs. My God tells me to treat everyone kindly. The world would be much happier and safer if we ALL tried to be more compassionate and patient with others.

Christmas is to celebrate Christ, thats why I always say Merry Christmas if someone gets insulted Im sorry but I will not change to be politcally correct.

Hoosier_guy has not once, ever been remotely pushing or argumentative; all he is doing is sharing his beliefs and because some people may not agree it is disrespectful and intolerant? So I guess next time someone is sharing a belief that is "offensive" to me I should raise a big stink about it. Is there not a thing called freedom of speech in this country?
It's so sad what this country has come to when Christ is more offensive than pornography.
Oh my dear lord, the majority of the country says their christian. There isn't some big huge conspiracy to destroy christmas, stop buying into Bill-o the master of spin. The only examples he could even give aren't examples of people hating christians, it was examples of corporations wanting EVERYONES money, not just christians. Hence "happy holidays"

I am sorry that you have come across Christian that are not true to Our Heavenly Fathers teachings. Bit the Christians I know are not drunkin', cursing, fools as you mentioned and do not PUSH Christ at anyone. You possibly have not had a good experience. It will come to you when you allow it. And the only reason Im saying this to you is because you chose to post in this particular thread if not I would not discuss religion with you out of the blue to try to convert or save your soul. I believe my Lord works in mysterious ways and when he wants you he'll call...its up to you to except. I do not know of any Christian conspiracy.

I know you are in your recliner, but could you add something to the discussion and not just add a sweet amen.

Although, yes, Hoosier-guy deserves a rep point or three!

No, but just like everything else in life nothing is black and white. I didn't say it wasn't confusing...I said you have to study it to get the true meaning of things. And each individual takes away from each verse what the Lord intends for them to take away from it. Some are clear, some are not. When He wants you to understand, you will. In the Old Testament, they made animal sacrifices to God to repent and be cleansed of sin and in the New Testament Jesus Christ died for all of us and our sins. What's interesting is that throughout the OT there are prophesies of Jesus. God had everything planned from our beginning until our end. He is not contradicting Himself at all. We know all we need to know, and if you don't study His Word you don't even know that. God has the authority to work through me to point these things out to others. I don't decide.

I got a neg too....seems just the Christians are being attacked when we quote the Bible. I'll see what markablue has to say about mine.

That's what I'm thinking... if somebody ELSE saying "Happy Holidays" makes you feel forced to give up beliefs, they can't be that strong.

I was just discussing this issue with a co-worker, and how I refuse to work on the High Holy Days (Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippur)... when I was putting in my request for those days off, she said "well, just because you ask, doesn't mean they'll give them to you." My response was simply "I won't be here, whether they allow it or not! No job is worth giving up my beliefs." Can we say Sandy Koufax?
