My opioin is to escape the truth that we exist forever. You need a break from that from time to time. Don't you agree? Existing forever is almost to much to fathom. Time does not really exist though. We just use time as a measure of the rate of change in things around us. It is always now if I am not mistaken.Step out of the Bible Box, Koran Box, or Torah Box and think about for a bit. Let it sink in without having to use some written word to understand. Then give me your input on it all?

Existing forever is indeed a crazy concept to fathom, however so is the concept of dying and simply ceasing to exist for the rest of ever. I think there must be remnants of our existence which linger for eternity because it is impossible to destroy matter. In theory, a consciousness could be viewed as an extremely abstract form of matter. Consequently, it is perhaps possible that, once our physical body dies (our consciousness's 'vehicle' if you like), our consciousness proper progresses on to manifest itself in some other form (maybe like Jimmy Webb's "single drop of rain" analogy in Highwayman).

Brain meltage!

Actually time really does exist, (see Hawkins) and there are quite a few answers, there is nothing in the construct of "answer" that entails that you like it, or even understand it.
