It is my understanding that some religions prohibit the celebration of Halloween. Can anyone tell me what they are? Do you not celebrate because of your faith? Why?
I'm a Pagan. We INVENTED Halloween (well, it's actually Samhain). I'm going to put on my best witch costume and hit YSM up for some miniature Almond Joys!

JW's aren't "supposed" to celebrate Halloween. Then again they aren't "supposed" to celebrate Xmas either, but I have yet to see one refuse a gift on Xmas though.
Halloween (and Xmas) is a purely Christian holiday, even if it's roots are found in the ancient traditions of Samhain, much like the obolisk in St. Peter's Square was taken from an Egyptian Temple and made Christian.
I usually don't do anything special on Halloween, but it has less to do with any sort of belief system and more to do with the fact that I just got home from work and just want to spend a quiet evening at home.

Riiiiight. That's why so many Christian churches have sacred Halloween services. Pray tell, what part of Jesus' life or message is celebrated at Halloween?

What part of your Christ's life or message demands the institution of churches?
