Well, first time I saw it I thought it was a reference to Scarmiglione.

My first thought would be Dante's Divine Comedy. But then again, I am partial to Dante.

Yup... for some reason, a demon that tortures lawyers and fraudulent politicians, threatens to stab Dante in the butt, and farts in Virgil's general direction appeals to me.

Here are your points.

My username includes the job number (314X) that I had at work, when I first discovered C-D. I'm actually not 314X any more--but since we have an arrangement where we pick our jobs twice a year, I didn't think I'd want to change my username every six months.

Goodpasture comes from the Swiss/German word Wollenweider (or so I understand....I do NOT speak German)......Loosely translated (I've been told) from the original it meant a good meadow for horses or some such..................

I inherited it from my father who got it from his father, back to 1750 in Virginia.

I passed it on to my son.............
