Years ago, a terrible schoolhouse multiple-killing took place in Columbine, Colo., and a shocked nation cried out, “Why didn’t God prevent this terrible thing?”

One wise religious leader pointed out what she thought might be God’s thoughts on the plight of our threatened schools. God, being the gentleman that he is, might say, “I’m not allowed in schools anymore.” He stands patiently by and watches our self-made pain as we intentionally ignore him.

hmmmm - so God decided to punish the children and teachers who didn't make the decision to 'take God out of school?'

I thought God was all-knowing. If He were, He would never make such a stupid remark.

If, as it seems most religious people claim, man is granted free will, why should we think this act of Godless men would have been any different had God been allowed in the schools?

BEWARE non-believers will twist this to some sick God hates AMERICA thought HE was a loving GOD!!! First, you have to believe in God and love HIM. America is taking God out of everything slowly but surly and then will ask why is God doing this. Just like the Jews leaving Egypt complain, complain and asking why is this happening.
Well, once HIS cursed enough HE gets a little tried of hanging around were He's not wanted!!

I live very close to Columbine and cannot describe the terror we felt on the day of the shootings. One of the victims' father was on CBS News with Katie Couric on one of her 'speakout sessions. Brian Rohrbaugh is the father of Daniel Rohrbaugh. Brian is a community leader, President of Colorado Right to Life, and a man well-respected in the Denver area. He has consistently made the case that our respect for human life is dangerously low as we continue to slaughter the unborn, take God out of our schools, and pretend that there is anything remotely subjective about right and wrong. He made that case with Couric and he makes that case in the community. And he's right. He's absolutely right.

It isn't so much that shootings happen BECAUSE of God's wrath. That would be silly theology. But when we take God out of the equation it leaves a void that is only filled by evil. The only way to remove this evil is to crowd it out with God.
