Why Do You Hate God?

Same reason that you hate Zeus.

Default The Truth may hurt a little bit, but here goes....

In the beginning there was God and a biblical account of His words and deeds. The multitudes took his acolytes and prophets at their word and believed all, but it was not all good or selfless. It was for power and influence and wealth. It became, in its worst iteration, TV Evangelism and pedophilic Catholic priests and The Spanish Inquisition and The Crusades and modern apologist websites like AiG and The Creation Institute and many others, all vying for an uncritical but paying audience.

But then, as objective exploration of the real world expanded our fundamental knowledge and enabled us to save the lives of the sick, to circumnavigate a round Earth in sailing ships and space ships, and to land men on the moon that circles our Earth, which in turn was proven to circumnavigate the massive sun in our solar system, our hard-won but accurate knowledge was spit on, ridiculed and denigrated.

It was labeled as the product of a "drunken reprobate" [We're talking YSM's massively wrong, unfair and vicious depiction of Darwin here on C-D of course...] or as coming from the mouths and minds of biased and unethical scientists incapable of seeing "the God's truth".

Well, the truth as Christians desperately want it to be, with no scientific basis, supporting education, imagination or intellectual honesty to support it at any rate.

So, over time, atheists and others have come to hate the arrogance and institutionalized stubbornness, the utter distain for any proven knowledge simply because it effectively dispels those ancient and now easily disprovable fables and metaphors. We don't hate a non-existent God of course, just what the God-icon represents. Institutionalized illiteracy.

We have grown tired of the endless patronizing insults, the tirades and the gross inaccuracies that accompany most fundamentalist Christian pronouncements. So, being only human, and burdened with the failings of the human temperament, and being of limited tolerance for endless insults and vitriol against OUR far more rationally determined and documented beliefs, we've eventually decided to strike back and attack those untruths, the patent lies and the near-pathological self-delusion that is so rampant in organized denialist religion.

Christians are completely unwilling to openly debate any aspects of their belief rule set or fairy-tale stories, even those whose missing logic strains the most basic of credibilities. They couple it with patronizing put-downs, with such insults as "Oh but what if you're wrong, my son??" or You'll all burn in hell if you don't believe what we believe!".

1) Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer to know my fate from a rational perspective, not from yours, which we've proven to be quite contradictory or just plain wrong.

2) You should really change your personal approach to debate, including being open to acceptance if your side turns out to be inerrantly wrong. Else you're just proselytizing, not listening.

3) You should realize that your core belief set is just as pretentious as the Muslim, Jehovah's Witness, LDS or Greek god versions. It was the most well established for the Dark Centuries, when the peons were uneducated peasants, but it's time has come to be replaced with natural rationalism and the acceptance of quality education.

There. Presented as honestly as I can. That do it for you, YSM?

In a Spinozan way, is it possible to get derided by people for the love of God just because you asserted that you stopped loving another person? No; they have coerced you into that belief at first for the non-commital attitude of minds exposed to one another. If you believe cynically that it isn't so, then it could be some kind of Self-deceipt OR the atheist is not free.

Faulty and lacking in logic.
Atheists exist, even if you refuse to acknowledge the fact.

God is a seed that needs to be sowed on furtile soil, under the wormth of the sun, and with loving and caring hearts, and minds, and hopes for a prosperous future, in caring , feeding, and helping ALL LIFE...live!.

Now if one claims they do not believe in God....For God is the Kingdoms of those principles done in a certain light of mind and heart, and hope for a future.....Then they surely believe in nothing of any meritable truth!

Amen?

In a word: Hog-Twaddle! But there it is again, precisely on cue. The Christian's fall-back insult that we atheists are morally bereft, that we believe in nothing of "meritable truth", and thus that only the Godly have value.

It is exactly because I choose to personally evaluate everything I come across in life through the lens of my own experience and well-thought-out values that I come to a better determination than does a blind-faith and unquestioning fundamentalist. I don't need the "clutter" of the arrogant thinking of others to come to personal ethical conclusions.

As a prime-time example right here: Sir Les is an adamant Christian acolyte, and yet he comes to a highly erroneous, irrational and insulting (and thus ethically questionable) final conclusion, for all to see.

A far more accurate closing statement would have been: "Then atheist non-believers will surely come to reliable and ethical conclusions on their own".

Easy, huh?
