Did God Not come to him and speak to him directly
because he does not have a chapter in the Bible does it make him less credible????

The question is not whether or not Abraham was a reliable source.

The question is: Where are you finding the writings of Abraham?

Never mind. Google came to the rescue. The book of Abraham is in the Mormon Bible. Question answered.

I ascribe to the Christian faith it does not matter to you or anyone else which church I go to
No I am not a Mormon
It shouldn't matter anyway

why was Abraham one of the chosen that God spoke to but didn't get a place in the Bible

Was he meant to and was omitted?

Does it matter
I think everyone is missing the big picture by saying that the bible is perfect
written by imperfect people translated by imperfect people

I choose to be done here and in this post
you don't get you won't get it

PS I am sorry I am angry

but this is important
some think the Christian religion is like welfare
as in

all I have to do is this and this and this and I will be saved
It doesn't work like that
you have to work at it hard everyday like a job

It bothers me that some say ALL you have to do is believe in Jesus and you will go to heaven
It doesn't work that way sorry

Why are u upset, I (we) were just curious of where the scripture was located, because as I meantioned before, I head never heard it before. I dont consider my walk with Christ a job, however I do have to die to self daily.

I didn't say it was a job I said you have to work hard at being good at it like a job

I am sorry to those who i forgot cannot believe anything that doesn't come straight from the Bible
but like I said also
If Abraham was special enough for God to choose to speak to doesn't he deserve some credit as to what his words say even if it didn't make it to the bible

You're right. My apologies. It's from one of the writings of Joseph Smith, The Pearl of Great Price. I found it at: http://scriptures.lds.org/en/contents
