I believe that some of the theistic among us do not understand that showing a bias in scientific inquiry is an easy way to lose your job. Fudging facts, ignoring some data and weighing other data more heavily because the truth is inconvenient, will get a scientist out of work in a hurry. Unfortunately, it will advance the career of some unethical theologians whose writings are largely for the barely literate and scientifically challenged.

Exactly! For those that really believe in their cause, distract your enemy by blowing a whole bunch of smoke up their butt. Send them on snipe hunts, baffle them with BS, but just make it believable BS.

Not to mention the bias would quickly be rooted out by other scientists, when the data was scrutinized and tested by others.
