I'm still gobsmacked by the realization there are adults walking around today who believe the stories of Adam and Eve and Noah et al actually happened.
Humanism like this thread which rejects God and rejects people who Worship the living God , is a hopeless lifestyle , and very poor discerned spiritually ........... Most people who become humanist comes from people who never tried to become a Christians and never was baptized by the Holy Spirit , because if people ever were baptized by the spirit of God then they would never be a humanist in their life time as the truth of Christ would haunt them all they lives if they fell away from Jesus
This is blind cultist mentality. As a former Christian I know this disorder. Dare to reason your faith and you may someday beat this disorder.

Yes so much more logical and rational to believe that the beauty and complexity of human life all originated from a random glob of goop, right?

The problem with framing it like that is you are merely attempting to make it sound more ridiculous than it actually is.
Like if I said "Look at my car, it came from rocks on the side of a mountain". But technically that is what happened. Metals were extracted from the ground, refined, formed, and shaped into a car. But when you leave all that "bit in the middle" out and say "My car was pulled out of rocks" it sounds absurd.
Similarly with subjects like evolution. TECHNICALLY it is correct to say all our evidence suggests human life and civilization all came out of a pile of gloop. But leaving out the entire interim process merely serves to (in your case INTENTIONALLY) reduce it to absurdity.
But to answer your question without the absurdity, yes. It is more logical to believe a heavily substantiated Theory over a fantastical fairy tale in a book that is itself unsubstantiated. "MUCH more logical and rational" as you yourself said.
As with most threads like this posters think only of literal interpretation when only a small number of Christians do. Most Christians believe in evolution, don't really care about gay marriage, and realize that what matters is love God and love your neighbor which is really the same thing.
15 “Have you allowed all the women to live?” he asked them. 16 “They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lord’s people. 17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
Nothing in that passage that says God approves of rape. All we have here is a directive given ONLY to the Israelites. Extreme measures had to be taken or else the Israelite race would quickly fall into demonic destruction by worshipping false gods. The Midianites were an evil enemy of Israel and the passage shows that the women were just as guilty as men in influencing the Israelites.

Your opinion, of the fictional story. What is clear is gods leader wiped out a people, men, women, children and animals, while allowing the soldiers to have the virgins. Seems evil to me.

I am astonished that men refuse to believe what that story means, and how it relates to the sperm of men not being the choice for Jesus.
The book of excuses is really about the failures of men. We keep giving men them power based on an ancient book.
