Just watch: someone will come up with a scriptural quote and insists that it tells us what religion the dinosaurs practiced!

Smile Gobble gobble. (burp)

Good Question! I love this one; probably might buy it if I find it, though a friend of mine who put a Darwin fish on his car had his rear deck "keyed", no doubt by some tolerant, "peace and love" Christians.

It's OK to strut your devout ancient mythology, but to display what is obviously a funny and satirical graphic that coincidnetally images a likely actual carnivorous event? Oh no no no!

"Religion is NEVER funny, rifleman! We're dead-serious!"

BTW, if we as a society can and do trust all the other masses of accepted info-tidbits from scientific (i.e. reliable) research studies, we can damn-well accept that current hi-tech dating methods are more than correct and reliable. When we use those same techniques to absolutely date some known mummy, ceramic artifact or set of old elephant bones, they work just fine. Now we wander over and use the same methods to date a dino bone, and guess what?

Those dinos are way older than 6035 years. They are, in fact, millions of years old, and the co-application of several unrelated dating methods absolutely ensure the artifacts are that old, rounded to the nearest 10,000 or so years. When we're talking about real old stuff, that's good enough for me.

So, yes, dinosaurs are anti-Christian because they categorically disprove Genesis. They also weren't on the Ark (impossible, as are all the Arkist theories and platitudes), so that story's truly dead in the water [so to speak...], and dinos therefore sort of reverse-prove an ancient Earth.

The dinos' demise also indicates a catastrophic event long, long before any imaginary flood 2500 years ago, most likely a meteor impact, which also qualifies many astrophysics discoveries, including the ever-more-substantiated facts that predict a Big Bang origination.

Dinosaurs are thus a keystone & benchmark indicator against the entire Christian myth. You believe in them, so you can't really also believe in the literal biblical translation. Now, if you can personally and happily deny all those stories, and accept Christianity as a simple allegory, a teaching instrument or a basic guidebook for a spiritual life, then OK.

But I and a majority of atheists do not require the additional burden of a mandated belief system to get along, while it's obvious to me that many many folks do, just to get along day to day.

"There's got to be something more, rifleman!"

Well,.... no... not really.

Hear ye. The efforts (and there have been many) to argue that dinosaurs were around up to a few thousand years ago (Except in Cambodia apparently where the survived into the 13th century) have not added up.

The T Rex soft tissue is remakable but falls far short of being raw meat that has to be relatively recent. The 'Mummified' hadrosaur is more of a solid rock plaster cast. The Ica stones are open to a lot of question as are those cartoon ceramic dinosaurs.

The Bible references to Behemoth and Leviathan are uncertain and the main objection to recent dinosaurs is that there is no sign of any organic material from any of these. We have organic material of prehistoric mammals from the tar pits but no dinosaurs as yet. They confim, in fact, the palaeontological fossil evidence for the fauna at the time.

Well, gotta go...but the Dinos on the ark doesn't work on evidence let alone as a workable story.

Red face Time To Shoot Up!

You'll soon enough hear about "Hiber-Eggs", a concoction which Tom has suggested to explain how those 8 - 10 thousand different spieces of dino survived on the Ark. You'd have to thus have about 8,000 X 2 [for future sexual reproduction] times about 40 pairs per species, so that's a nice pile of 640,000 eggs, all kept at optimum temp, humidity and safety.

Riiiigghhhhttt.

With, of course, nothing to tend to or protect them once Noah's kids placed them in nice warm sand up at the 14,000 foot lev... oh I forgot; it was all snowy up there at the time. Freezing. Insta-death to eggs.

All the little revisionist or creativity details that Creationists come up with to justify the possibility of the necessary near-billion species on the Ark are, on their face, stupid.

When they are taken in concert, it's simply beyond the imagination in terms of acceptability, but still, remember, MC, we're talking to devout, scientifically and logically illiterate peasant-heads who must have their religion, and this sort of proven truth and evidence steps firmly on the neck of their required mytho-drug.

When I was a Jehovah's Witness I would ask this question, and was told that god used them to prepare the earth for man. As a kid it was good enough at the time, but later WOW what the he!! are you saying!!!! This is a claim in the absence of any reasoned thought. Stupid beyond stupid, just throw out something and hope the Low IQ bite. How about the post in one of the forums where the woman said, I believe that gods exists because I know he exists, how the heck do you argue with that level of stupidity? I guess you don't let them stew in their own excrement, problem is they are making excrement of the rest of this country trying to make it into some Christian utopia, last time that happened we were in the dark ages for years

WRT to keying of cars due to stickers...

Not sure of the USA laws in the USA, but there is a useful lil' device you can make up and install.

Get an old ignition coil. Find a DIY circuit for an inverter. with a transformer, via the inverter, up the batt voltage to say 50-100V. output via a half wave rectifies an pulser about 15-25 Hz.

Anyone within 6 inches of your car will draw the wrath of gawd in a spark that will zapp him to his knees, he will think the rapture has taken place.

One of the less violent anti hijacking devices developed here in SA.

Now if you really want something more permanent try this

How this baby works, it has a delayed ignition ensuring that the perp is drenched in LP gas and then tick tick tick and then woof, the perp learns to bark

Way back then, it was a sin to eat fish on Friday, but those dinosaurs couldn't care less.

Now THAT is much more useful than pondering whether dinosaurs were christian or not.
