Or is there fear?
Fear to grow
Fear to disrupt the comfort regardless of truth
Fear in oneself ?

Ok...Ive said maybe alot for normal folks.....here then
If, the story and reality of Christianity is true ( which I believe ) why reduce the
fantastic epilogue of the incarnate to a mere quick overview.?
Why not give it full attention?
In short my feelings are with the previous posts "just mentioned" that we can
easily grow past our primitive position of interpretation Why do you think
there is and was an emphasis on humility ?
You can't pick and choose what is comfortable, you must absorb its entire spectrum

Sorry, I guess we will just focus on the slow stuff.
Is there a God, Ya
Is there a Jesus, Ya
Is there acceptance of me, ya
Ok , I fell better now and "don't" ask me to think !

I don't believe we are ever born or die by the definitions commonly used. What we are (and I do not claim it to be soul or spirit) is eternal and embarked on an unknown journey. Is this because of god? Not in my opinion. We just are, and being human is just a phase of our existence, which is by our terms eternal.
As I said, just my opinion.

^^this is the closest explanation I've found that mirrors my views on this subject.
But no, I don't know for certain.

as someone else has pointed out, NDE do report what people have said in other rooms, out of the 'normal' range of hearing of the patient, which I believe holds some weight along with other reported 'effects'. Yes, I suppose that when the brain is starved of oxygen it could cause certain effects, however, sometime the brain is not starved of oxygen and people still report similar experiences.
Now you are going to tell me that 'this effect' starts as soon as the death process begins after what... 2 minutes without blood supply to the brain? There must be an experiment for find out if the regions of the brain attributed to these sensations are active after brain death has occurred. That would be quite easy to monitor.
There was a study going on I think by the University of Southampton in the UK, whereby some pictures were placed on a shelf near to the ceiling and the idea was that if people were really flying around the room near the ceiling, they would see these and report them when they returned. I have no idea what the outcome of this experiment was/is or whether it is a good one or not.
