I have stated several times
I do believe in the concept of the Biible I believe the stories are true
but I don't think I can accept it word for word because of mistranslation and omitions
How can you be sure that the bible stories are true if they contain mis-translations and omissions? If there are mis-translations and omissions in your bible....how do you decide what is true and what isn't? How do you decide what is translated correctly and what isn't? How can you be sure that what was omitted shouldn't have been included? Mis-translation and omission can dramatically alter the 'truth' of a story.

and there dncngrl, is why you should carefully consider what you are saying and who is reading it. The Bible is either trustworthy or it isn't.

BUT I would rather die with my eggs in the basket knowing I did the best possible thing I could for my salvation
Then not do it and not know the Lords love on Judgement day

So me believeing now and it not being so as you suggest harms me in no way
I just turn to worm poo Right????
BUT me NOT believing now and it is so as I suggest will harm my salvation and I may never know the Lord's undiying love for me

I prefer the "Atheist's Wager" rather than "Pascal's Wager".

Hey the Aztecs sacrificed thousands of virgins to benefit their salvation so don't feel bad. I'm sure they are doing just fine in heaven as well. I mean, they didn't know any better so it's all good, right?
If you search carefully, you will find the most of the errors are numerical and related to a persons name. The scriptures have stood the test of time and recent archeological discoveries have only backed up their validity. So in case anyone thinks they can negate the Bible's validity historically are out of luck. Like others here though, it relies a lot on ones' faith too. Gotta have faith.....

strange.. the bible states that "pie" is 3.14, although the Egyptians calculated "pie" to 5 decimal places over a 1000 years before the gospels.
