probably so. I think any extremist religious person is capable of killing because they believe they are the only right believers. But at this time in history the Muslim extremists are more noticeable. Christianity had their violent time a few hundred years ago.

Irrespective of what you Islamophobes whine on and on about, Saudi is a not-so-bad country. They have a passion for horses, the Bedouin tents are out of this world and the spicy food is off the hook.

All ye cross-cultural champs, get yourself some camel kabobs and start appreciating a culture you have no clue about, which also happens to be far older than yours

Oh Saudi Arabia is fine if you are a man, don't drink or like bacon and are not a homosexual, but if you happen to be female....Not so much.

Saudi Arabia is a country in which Islamic law is strictly enforced. No alcohol, pork products or religious books and artifacts not related to Islam are permitted in the country. There are no bars in Saudi Arabia, and alcohol is served nowhere to anyone of any religious persuasion. Dress should be conservative at all times, and women should take particular care not to offend. Visitors are advised to familiarize themselves with behavior and dress codes before entering the country. Homosexual behavior and adultery are illegal and can carry the death penalty. Photography of local people, government buildings, military installations and palaces is not allowed, and women are not permitted to drive.

Penalties for breaking the law are very severe.

I may actually agree with you, but this is an interesting yet bizarre perspective. And it "can" be true. Female freedom is just relative.

I hear what the cartoon is saying, but I would submit that the difference is that women in the West generally have a choice on whether or not they will be exploited. In countries that have strict Islamic law...there is no choice.
