Presumably, you are making reference to the Biblical Savior aka Jesus.
The scriptures point out that Jesus saves us from God's coming wrath/judgment.
Jesus accomplished this by living a perfectly sinless life and through suffering and death as atonement for the sins of all those to whom it has been given to believe. The righteousness of Jesus is ascribed to all believers in order to cover their sin in order to make them acceptable at the judgment.
I think the character Jim Casy from The Grapes of Wrath embodies the true meaning of what a savior is. The spirit of humanity is the only savior there is. The common christian view of Jesus being the savior of humanity seems rather ridiculous to me. What they mean by savior is that Jesus saved all who believe from eternal torment. Salvation from some pseudo mythical nightmarish fantasyland isn't salvation. Someone's own work and wits are what will save them. Essentially, the work of both the individual and collective humanity is what will save us. There's no ethereal world. People are their own saviors and the only thing they can be saved from is this world, the only world we have from destroying itself. People can do this by working for the betterment of this world rather than pursueing some mythical savior that will supposedly make everything better after they die.
I thought Christians believe Jesus already "saved" the entire human race -- all done. If that's the case, religion can go down toilette -- no use any more.
If no one was ever "saved", then the whole story must be totally BS.

So, Jesus is righteous and God is not? Why would God's judgment be something we need to be saved from? Aren't God's judgments supposed to be just?
What we really need to be saved from is people telling us we need to be saved.
