Everyone has their opinion, so does the OP and so does this Christian professor of Theology.
Quote:
Jesus Christ is pretty unquestionably the central figure of Christianity. His name is where the religion comes from, after all, and the story of Christ allowing himself to be killed by the local Roman government as penance for the sins of humanity is integral to the entire ethical system underlying Christian thought.
However, Robert F. Shedinger, a professor at Iowa’s Luther College, has a different argument. He thinks Jesus was actually…a Muslim. Yes, really. In fact, he wrote a book explaining all about it
They're called near death experiences, not death experiences. NDEs are evidence that a brain under stress can produce bizarre experiences. That's it.
Drugs can produce strange experiences. So can things like panic attacks, meditation, and lack of oxygen. There's no evidence for anything supernatural going on.
We humans seem to be hard wired to assume a supernatural explanation for anything we don't understand. Odd experiences included. But science learns more about the brain every day, shedding light on what is really going on.
You seem unable to let go of that early indoctrination about God, Freak. There is no such thing as "supernatural!" What about that do you not get??? All these things tell us is that the brain does react in unique ways to certain kinds of stimuli (no surprise there). It is only bias that demands that they not be accurate renditions of whatever the brain is sensing based on the state it is in.

Yep, it's because the silver cord wasn't cut.
When science learns about our soul, then that'll be a real breakthrough.
This is what Jesus looked like on earth written by John:
Quote:
And while Jesus was a Jew, he was not what may be called a typical Jew in appearance any more than in other qualities, for he had in him that condition of soul that to a large extent determined and fashioned his appearance. His eyes were not dark or brown but a violet blue, and his hair was light and inclined to the auburn; his nose was prominent and somewhat long, and his beard was of the color of his hair, and worn not so long as was the custom of those days, and he never had a razor on his face. His forehead was not so very high or broad, but was well shaped and somewhat effeminate, and indicated that there was not so great mental development as might be supposed, for I must say here, that his knowledge was not so much the knowledge of the brain, as of the heart and soul; and as you know, and as all men may know who acquire the proper soul development, the soul has a brain of its own which is used for the disclosure of the knowledge of that which pertains to the spiritual truths.

There's a small problem with that one.
Quote:
Islam is a monotheistic religious tradition that developed in the Middle East in the 7th century C.E. Islam, which literally means "surrender" or "submission," was founded on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as an expression of surrender to the will of Allah, the creator and sustainer of the world.
Mohammad lived some six hundred years AFTER Christ!
Here's another spirit, Ann Rollins, describing Jesus' appearance in the spirit world. The message was received on May 13, 1915:
Quote:
Well, it is somewhat difficult to describe his appearance, but I will try. He is of a commanding figure, as you say on earth. His features are regular, and his eyes are of a deep blue, almost a purple blue, with such depths of love in them that under its influence you almost forget to note the color of his eyes. The hair is a beautiful brown, worn long and parted in the middle so that it falls over his shoulders. His nose is straight and somewhat long, with nostrils very refined and showing the artistic elements in his nature. His other features are in keeping with those I have described. He wears a beard quite long and very silky and brown like his hair. His manner is grace itself and modesty personified, and yet in him is the intensity of feeling which can show itself in just indignation when the occasion requires. And yet with all the great beauty of his person and the greater love of his soul showing itself, he is very humble - more so than any spirit I have seen.
In the Bible, they call him "St. John"... or John the Disciple of Jesus... or John the Apostle. Any way you slice it, John is awesome. He's the closest spirit to Jesus. If anybody wants to read some of his writings, here's the link:

There is no evidence that John the Apostle even existed, much less wrote anything. The dating of the Gospel according to John has determined that it was written long after the events supposedly occurred.
