Does arguing with a fundamentalist and knowing what they are going to say before they say it count?

That makes an awful lot of sense.

I don't remember where I read it, but I read one theory on it that said deja vus were caused by some sort of micro-epileptic episode in the brain. I have to find that article again as it seemed like a strange explanation to me. Your way seems much more plausible. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best.

All the time. About twice a week I dream of what's about to happen to me the next week; down to what exactly I'm looking at, what the people are wearing, where exactly I'm standing in the room, etc.

I never dream of the deja vu it just happens. And of course I have had deja vu since I was a small child. Also I would like to point out since no one has mentioned this, I have not only had a single deja vu at one time but several at one time, in the same instant. And I can always count how many I have had, which led me to this conclusion, since they aren't always the same number usually four, but never more than that and sometimes less. Reincarnation, ever consider it? Say we have been put on this Earth to experience life. Not several other lives, but one. And if we, say experience deja vu then we know we are on the same path as before. And if your on the same path deja vu is just our way of reminding us "Oh yeah, been there done that." So take a look at your life and evaluate. Have you made any major decisions in your life lately? Maybe you should have taken the other path in that decision. And I could totally be wrong, like I said it is just a theory. I would love to hear anyone else's theory on this.

You could also say, that the entire universe keeps recreating itself over and over again, recreating all of us. And we just keep living the same life over and over again. Just a thought. :-D thought I'd throw it out there and see what happens

yes. i used to have them quite often. my cousin even declared loudly that it seems like what was happening that time had happened before. i also had a dream of what was gonna happen recently. it was karmatastic. when i dreamt it, i was planning to go to that place the next day. my dream made me postponed it, 2 days later though, i forgot about it so i went and that's when my nightmare the previous night happened. i was beyond traumatized. and that's when i remember about the dream. i was like.... why the F did i forgot NOT TO GO THERE!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh.

the end.

The eyes and the brain scan and pick stuff up before the consciousness catches on to them.

I used to think there was something special about deja vu's until I read about chronic deja vu's. Studies on that makes it pretty obvious that it's just your brain:
When deja vu is more than just an odd feeling

It's quite sad really. People who suffer from chronic deja vu can become depressed, they feel they have met everyone before, if you are watching tv you wouldn't enjoy it because you'd feel that you've already seen it and people with it may even refuse treatment since they feel they have tried the treatment before at it failed.

It clearly shows that whoever came up with that theory has never experienced it. For those who have it's an event thats very strange. I personally think that it proves ESP and perhaps (I stress perhaps) even prophetic visions. I however, want to hear from you guys and see your take on it. But, I will be very frank I'm really not interested in those that haven't ever experienced it as I feel that the opinions of such people are "secound hand" at best. I however, welcome all opinions from all people regardless of wether or not you've experienced it (just thought I'd make clear that some will not be of interest to me).
I have, and I have put it to the test. I have found when ever I feel this sensation, I try to predict what happens next, and that never turns out quite right..
