Rick Warren is no better than that slap happy phony faith healer Benny Hinn.
How do you know he didn't give any?

Due to the success of his book sales, in 2005 Warren returned his 25 years of salary to the church and discontinued taking a salary. He says he and his wife became "reverse tithers", giving away 90% of their income and living off 10%.

Rick Warren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As the money has rolled in from his book, Warren stopped taking his $110,000 annual salary and repaid the church for his 25 years of salary since its founding. He and his wife became "reverse tithers," he said, keeping 10 percent of their income and giving away the rest, including $13 million in 2004.

I thought this guy was a billionaire. I smell a rat.
Maybe if they hadn't put so much money into a hateful propeganda campaign to deny a minority their fair share of equal civil rights, they wouldn't be "broke".

So he claims, certainly.

The donors to the evangelists are the epitome of dupes.
The scary part is these people also vote. How easy is must be to convince them.

These folks were not giving money to Rick Warren. He doesn't accept a salary from Saddleback.

Rev. Rick Warren begs his followers for $900,000

Well of course he does, he's gonna need that money to save some of the workin' girls. You know the ones, those standin' around street lamps at night.

So he claims.

Quite convinient when churches are exempt from making their income public like public companies have to.

Even WND, hardly a credible source but fiercely religiously conservative, lambasts Warren...
There goes Rick Warren, again

Not even other evangelists can stand the guy...

This of course isn't going into the usual prostylization disuised as "charity" Warren engages in with his AID's project in Africa.

Or his ties to the Dominionist Agenda...

Listened to an interview he gave on NPR radio.

Gives away 90% of his income.

Does not take a salary from saddleback, and gave back all salary he recieved prior to his best seller.

Sounds like he's walking the walk, financially speaking.

Regarding prop 8. All sides have a right to support their interests.

Even "The Advocate" ( hardly a neutral player )

Firstly, so he SAYS. Churches are exempt from any requirement to show their financial records.

Secondly, regarding Prop 8. People are certainly within their rights to support their interests, WITHIN their states on state referendums, and religious organizations are NOT permitted to become invovled in scuh secular government activities as constitutional amendments.

While Saddleback is certainly in CA, it is certainly a religious organization, not to mention that much of the support for Prop 8 poured in from Utah.
