Default Has anybody baptized twice?

I was wondering if anybody has ever been baptized twice or know of people who did this with their kids.

My husband said that it is not done, end of story. However, we keep putting off our baby's baptism so that it can be done in another country. I would like to do it ASAP because that is tradition and I think the scripture says that parents are responsible for doing this.

Anyway, I have no problem with her doing it twice. The first time with us and the second time with her godparents.

I have been baptized twice. First time was at 12 and it was my choice (I was never baptized by my parents). The second time was a year ago. My son and I were batized together. He was 8 (it was his choice) and I wanted a full emersion baptism. Each different Christian sect has its own set of beliefs I think that you and your spouse should ask your spirtual advisor about that one. That way it won't be a source of conflict between you two, having a new baby is hard enough.

I got it twice. Once when christened as a Catholic. Later when my family converted Protestant.

And as soon as I was old enough (and fully deconverted), I went and got unbaptized.

I did. The first time I was baptized was when I was a teenager, but I did it because some friends did it. They didn't pressure me to, but it was just being a typical teenager. When I studied the Word more I realized that the first time really didn't mean anything, because although I was a believer, I really didn't turn my life over to God at that point. In my 20's I did it again, by choice, and it truly meant something to me.

I know a lot of people baptize their child when they're young, but I don't believe that to mean anything, as I believe we have to come to Christ on our own terms and choose to be baptized.

I was baptized twice once as an infant and once as an adult the later due to the fact that I was
able to repent and my discovery that original sin is a product of religion and not of scripture. Having
a conscious idea of what and why you are being baptized as an adult encouraged me to take that step. Act 2:38 is a good reference.

I was baptized twice, once while my parents were married as a Baptist, and then after they divorced, by my mom, as a Methodist. I, however, have not denounced my God. I am still proudly saved.
